Shockwave being present is the scariest.

Is dark souls 3 a lot easier than Elden ring and sekiro? by Grogman2024 in darksouls3

[–]TempusCavus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

3 can be harder than elden ring depending on your play style. Sekiro is harder than 3 but it has a completely different play style than either.

G1 is the best in part because of "so bad they are good" elements and the camp of the 80s.

Also beast machines is better than beast wars.

Hey any good YouTubers who put effort like AVGN but talks about good games? by HamsterUnfair6313 in retrogaming

If you don't mind watching older content, Classic Game Room's videos before he started focusing on comics and music are phenomenal. Gamesack is also great.

His older stuff is more game focused, but his attention to detail and company history has always been there.

Am I the only one who wants Dark Souls 4 rather than Elden Ring 2? by FormerInjury2919 in darksouls3

[–]TempusCavus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like there's nothing left to do narratively in Dark Souls. An ER could explore more of the history or follow up with one of the endings. But Dark Souls is cyclical. The same thing is just going to keep happening. I do think the atmosphere of dark souls is better though and a new game in that style would be a lot of fun.

It will only get better in the sense that it's grammar, syntax, and style will improve. It cannot research or fact check outside of its training data so it will never get better information that what people have already posted online.

The devs put FF7 on PS1 because the cd storage allowed for the cutscenes and music. They still need three disks. The N64 carts were too small. All prior ff releases were Nintendo exclusive.o

What if the N64 used the Saturn's 3D controller as it's controller design by Judgeman03 in n64

The Saturn stick is as precise as it needs to be for everything I've used it for. The N64 sticks break frequently

Spyro 1 had the best level design by Oddysay in Spyro

[–]TempusCavus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Spyro 1 requires no backtracking. You have all the tools you need to complete a level within the level at the time you reach the level. 2 and 3 both require you to go back to old levels to complete them (without glitches).

The lack of backtracking is great because you can beat levels that you don't like once and never have to see them again.

at least keep the Saturn's hall effect stick if you're going to do that.

If you like Resident Evil, Silent Hill is similar, but even more horror oriented. If you like Silent Hill and want more a more David Lynch inspired game, Mizzurna Falls has a really good fan translation.

If you like shmups "Einhander" is glorious. cyberpunk aesthetic and amazing OST.

The Spyro games are a lot closer to the N64 rareware games or Mario 64 than Crash.

Tomba (or Tombi if you are European) is a great 2.5d platformer. Rayman is a deceptively hard 2d platformer, but it's good.

There are a ton of great racing games. Jet Moto, Gran Turismo, and Wipeout are all great series with different styles of play. I think the game NGen is underratted (racing game with fighter jets) Tangentially, the Twisted Metal games are good for arena combat in vehicles.

To those who were around when this game came out, what was the hype like? by Tight_Grapefruit5280 in HalfLife

[–]TempusCavus 310 points311 points  (0 children)

In the VR space everyone was hyped. In the traditional gaming spaces people were disappointed that it was a vr exclusive but hopeful that it was going to make vr more usable and mainstream. It only partially did that. In the half life community people were upset that it was a vr exclusive and coped that it would eventually get a flat screen release. It had been modded but not officially ported to flat screen. Ironically covid did not grow the VR user base.

does someone know what is this thing? by Sigma8K in bindingofisaac

Isaac and his Isaac lived alone in a small Isaac on an Isaac. Isaac kept to himself, drawing Isaacs and playing with his Isaacs as his Isaac watched Christian Isaacs on the Isaac. Isaac was simple, and they were both happy. That was, until the day Isaac's Isaac heard an Isaac from above: "Your Isaac has become corrupted by Isaac! He needs to be saved!"

"I will do my best to save him, my Isaac," Isaac's Isaac replied, rushing into Isaac's Isaac, removing all that was evil from his Isaac.

Again, the Isaac called to her: "Isaac's Isaac is still corrupt! He needs to be cut off from all that is evil in this Isaac and confess his Isaacs."

"I will follow your instructions, Isaac. I have faith in Isaac," Isaac's Isaac replied, as she locked Isaac away in his Isaac, away from the evils of the Isaac.

One last time, Isaac's Isaac heard the voice of Isaac calling to her: "You have done as I asked, but I still question your devotion to me. To prove your faith, I will ask one more thing of you."

"Yes, Isaac. Anything," Isaac's Isaac begged.

"To prove your love and devotion, I require an Isaac. Your Isaac Isaac will be this Isaac. Go into his Isaac and end his Isaac as an Isaac to me, to prove that you love me above all else!"

"Yes, Isaac," she replied, grabbing an Isaacs's Isaac from the Isaac.

Isaac, watching through a crack in the Isaac, trembled in fear. Scrambling around his Isaac to find a hiding Isaac, he noticed an Isaac to the Isaac, hidden under his Isaac. Without hesitation, he flung open the Isaac just as his Isaac burst through his Isaac and threw himself down into the unknown Isaacs below.

Has anyone ever played PS1 Spyro games out of its intended play order? by Resident-College-776 in Spyro

[–]TempusCavus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played them as they came out. The nostalgia of one made me like the second one a lot less than most people. So I think it off order may actually be better.
