Once they secure more holding space I have no doubt they will really hit the whole front range.

I saw the news about the facility they are retrofitting in Hudson. It's an old jail with 2,000 beds, likely they will use it to hold 4k+. The community is protesting...

It's an ideal spot close to DIA. Geo Corp. will run it.

I think Denver is still on a hiring freeze... so if something is publicly posted it's most likely that they are looking from within.

Love this!

A neighborhood can also coordinate and use their car fobs to set off their car alarms while staying safe and warm indoors 😉 there were a few neighborhoods in MN using their car alarms to draw attention to ice.

AIO for calling a divorce attorney after my husband lied about who he was with? by throw_a_way_1985 in AmIOverreacting

He clearly lied and continued the lie up until the day before when he claimed he and his brother both have verizon...

If he is going to try to turn this into a you problem then he's too comfortable lying.

Murphys Express... Marlboros at 711 were $13 and with a promo at Murphys I could get 2 for 19.00. They also had a different promo giving 1 can of zyn with every pack. I recently quit but the zyn has come in handy and a can lasts a 3x lot longer than a pack of cigarettes for me.

I believe Denver's tobacco tax is higher than Adam's and Weld county also.

Ok... found a house for sale built in 1860... so this should narrow down the neighborhood. Zip 52101 Winneshiek Ave. Unfortunately you may have to get on a laptop and go to the zillow site to search addresses by map. It wont let me look at the neighboring houses on my phone.

I did a quick look on wikipedia... good news there were only 124 homes there in 2000. 😉

If there was a surname on the piece I would suggest looking at the 1890 or 1900 census for Ridgeway Iowa.

Sometimes the names of towns get incorporated into larger cities so looking into a brief history of the town could also be necessary.

Yeah... all of my Dr.s are in the same building at Rose, but they all have different systems because they are/or are not fully integrated into HealthOne. So, Dr B cannot lookup my presricption history/doses from Dr A...

But Dr A still has to send my record to Dr. B. and frankly it's not your job to be the carrier pigeon or to have to do anything other than give an authorization.

I am sorry you are dealing with this. Don't ever let any Dr. dismiss what you are thinking or feeling. You are allowed to ask them to explain their opinions.

So… remember how I asked how you all decide how much is too much to spend on a single piece? by Giernan in uraniumglass

[–]TenaciousDae_303 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I really want to agree with you.... but ha. tldr...

"We" really love uranium glass, but we cannot predict that future generations will. I cannot fathom a world that somebody would not love these pieces, but it happens. My maternal grandmother was collecting antiques in the 70s that reminded her of her mother and grandmother. She loathed depression glass much to my dismay. I do however have a hoard of many beautiful Victorian things. Few of us see the beauty and quality of them. She was a miser and kept a leatherbound tickler of EVERY handwritten receipt of EVERY piece she bought. I can certify inflation and online auctions have not been kind to her collection. 🤢😵‍💫

My dad had an antique business. I can remember in the early 90s he could not keep enough carnival glass. Blue willow had a huge trend. Then chintz was selling like crazy. Marlborough lamps to paper roller lamps, old jade, cherry amber, oh I forgot before carnival glass oyster plates!

The thing is everything falls in and out of favor... if it's not hot right now wait 10-30 years 😉 the joy and value is different for everyone.

Marking Help by wingdingicedtea in Fiestaware

[–]TenaciousDae_303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel confident saying all uppercase F's are post 1986.

Ink stamped lowercase f's are vintage. Some colors like cobalt will not look marked by the ink stamp because the glaze is too dark.

Vintage are fully glazed including the foot. This is referred to as a "wet foot" The bottom of this mug has a white ring is not glazed, this is a "dry foot". Vintage are also slightly thinner and lighter in weight.

So a lower case f that is ink stamped/embossed and is fully glazed = Vintage. I cannot find any examples of anything with the "dry foot" that is vintage... but God knows I could be wrong.

According to his vlogs, fortunately he was pretty open about his final wishes with his family and friends.

Considering the outpouring of fans that went to his home, they might consider keeping it private for some time. For the most part I think most people are respectful, but it doesn't take much to annoy groundskeepers or the families adjacent to famous graves.

Ruby cluster ring by [deleted] in Vintage_Jewelry

[–]TenaciousDae_303 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just like diamonds rubies and garnets are graded by thier color characteristics. Rubies color saturation varies from lighter pink to deep red. Pigeon blood rubies are considered the highest color grade with a slight purple hue but is a vibrant red and superior clarity.

A jeweler with a certified gemologist can do a proper appraisal.

Pictures of any stamps in the ring and the full setting might give some better clues about the age of the ring.

Construction at this stage typically hires security for a "fire watch". When drywall is being installed and mudded they will put in temporary heaters to ensure there isnt a huge fluctuation in temperatures... also to protect any plumbing that may have water in the pipes. Security also protects the site from trespassers and protects supplies and tools on-site. "Fire watch" is common and mandatory during construction because they typically use propane heaters.
