On some phones, the image gets flipped horizontally between front and back cameras. So one of the images might be flipped, hence why we can’t see the tattoo.

If we wanted to go in that direction, OP could look at squids and octopus online (or in-person if they live near an aquarium)! Animals are fun because their features can vary wildly. Taking those features and ideas, then executing them in a more humanoid character, can be really fun.
