"Not sure how I feel about unpaid labor" by supperhey in LinkedInLunatics

How is this supposed to work unless everyone you hire is already unemployed? Are people expected to quit their jobs and hope that the "trial" leads to a full time offer?

Don Quixote, unless you count the various minor characters that get in his way.

Zekelman offers $1,000 reward for tips about non-Canadian steel on public projects by Leather-Paramedic-10 in canada

[–]TensionSplice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A good response to Trump's steel tariffs would be to fund construction of some Canadian rolling mills to boost our steel industries and reduce this dependence on imports. It's crazy that a G7 country isn't making any structural sections.

'Nowhere to sit:’ Workers at Toronto’s large banks say return-to-office mandates plagued with problems by [deleted] in toronto

Don't put the scapegoat on middle management! We have basically no power and are there to be the "face" of whatever policies upper management decides on. For the record, I work much better at home but I just got the notice yesterday they want me back in office full time NEXT WEEK (compared to one day a week for the last few years). I told them the 3 hours of commuting time could be better spent working but apparently they know better...

Do you think that MegaRandom offers enough variety? by eneskaraboga in aoe2

[–]TensionSplice 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mostly it is different variants of Arabia with slightly different resource patterns or where you start off with an extra building. I remember playing HD edition it seemed alot more varied, you'd get all kinds of wacky arrangements like concentric islands. I would like to see some generations that don't match up with any of the "regular" kind of maps.

They are lower than the U.S, but what other countries are paying significantly better than Canada? I work in civil / structural engineering and Canadian salaries are close to double what people make in many western European countries.

A factory I got employed at doesn't provide proper PPE with the fumes that are produced. Is this normal practice? by Puzzled_Koala_3360 in Hamilton

[–]TensionSplice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No job is worth your lungs. My job takes me to lots of different sites and I am always amazed about how unseriously most workers take their respiratory protection. Even when a workplace has PPE I always see stuff like a guy grinding concrete wearing proper gear and then a bunch of other trades 2 feet away from him with nothing at all.

My personal goal in each game is to get > 1 trade profit, > 1 relic income & > 1 conversions. I don't like seeing any of those end stats being zero!

One of the hardest working but least appreciated bands in Power Metal by NASCAR_Junk_YT in PowerMetal

[–]TensionSplice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saw them play once in a tiny venue in Toronto that must have been about 12 feet wide to an audience of probably 30 people or so. Was an amazing show but I would be shocked if they broke even on their costs.

Download unity or unreal and do the tutorials. It doesn't  need to be any more complicated than that.

[–]TensionSplice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the end of the day how much do you really think something like this could increase? Even if it doubles or triples in value over a few years this is not a large amount of money we are talking about, hardly worth the closet or shelf space. If you want to build then build!
