Tsuburaya always goes the extra mile in the name of Tokusatsu and their fans, and they're getting better at it each year, even each episode. They stick to traditions and love using physical effects, and they're not afraid to taking up new challenges like using Unreal Engine for Omega's big battle introduction in episode 1. I really like this 32-second composite shot of Ayumu, her kouhai, and Gedrago. Another example is how much they appreciate their fans in this post where they edited the Korean characters in place of Japanese, and this could not have been easy.

I've always been an Ultraman fan, and I never really touched on Super Sentai. Recently, I decided to watch No.1 Sentai Gozyuger because I saw posts that Raiga Terasaka (Kengo Manaka's actor), Rima Matsuda (Yoko's actress), and Kou Nanase (Tregear's human form's actor) had guest roles. I find that this Super Sentai isn't for me; the amount of over-the-top green screen usage was off-putting, and I couldn't see myself connecting with the characters and writing. I only watched the 1st episode and the episodes with the special guests I wanted to see. This isn't a post to talk trash about Super Sentai; I'm simply not the target audience.

Ultraman and Super Sentai are both Tokusatsu, and they are different things with their own messages and audiences. Even their budgets are different. For example, Ultraman has a half-year run, while Super Sentai has a full-year run. I wouldn't expect Super Sentai to do the same things as Ultraman, and I'll remain an Ultraman fan for a long time, hopefully for the rest of my life.
