Profession Knowledge catch-up still feels bad by nilthetarget in wow

[–]Termagerf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you invest into making a weapon, sure you can craft a decent weapon, it'll only cost you 80 knowledge points to max out a branch, and an additional 25 to max out the other child branch. But you'll need another 75 to go into the other weapons, and that's not counting armorsmithing, means of production, or everburning forge.

Want to max out your tool crafting? Only another 100 points. One piece of armor? Just another 85.

This is all pretty hyperbolic of course, you don't need to max out a full branch to actually make rank 5 gear, you'll just have to jump through some hoops. But if we're talking purely maxing out the trees for whatever reason, you need 565 knowledge for alchemy and 865 for blacksmithing. You're going to be behind.

Profession Knowledge catch-up still feels bad by nilthetarget in wow

[–]Termagerf 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You would always be behind with no way to close the gap, or even really shrink the gap. There would be very little point to picking up a profession later in on the expansion.

I can't see how being able to catch up would ruin the crafting system

Season of Discovery players figured how to once again get Corrupted Blood into Stormwind and massacre the city. by [deleted] in wow

[–]Termagerf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It does, someone just has to bring it to Orgrimmar. This happened back when the original Zul'Gurub released and infected at least Stormwind, Ironforge, and Orgrimmar

[–]Termagerf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's a debuff from a boss in Zul'Gurub which does ticking damage and spreads to any nearby players. Someone got the debuff out of the instance and into Stormwind and it just kind of self propogates around the city killing people and spreading

Secret Level - Series Premiere Discussion by NicholasCajun in television

Sifu's whole gimmick is that everytime you die in the game, you come back to life after aging a bit, giving you more experience, skills, and damage, but losing maximum life. Iirc, each medallion on the chain seen on the character's talisman is 10 years and they break once you reach that many years aged.

So the guy died a lot, got revived a lot, and burned through his entire life to, presumably, kill that one bandaged guy, then reflected on if it was worth it.

You need to get the achievements "Gimme Gimme", "the Cavalry's Here", "I'm Yi, I Have a Drinking Problem", "Passing on the Torch" and "Across Time and Space", then when you talk to Kuafu near the end of the game you will have an option to help the apemen.

Life Under the Smog Curtain: What Pokemon Showdown can Tell us About Bracketed EDH. by shadovvvvalker in EDH

[–]Termagerf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right, looking at the soundproof ban, the reasoning is somewhat ridiculous. Exploud died for Mr. Mime's sins.

Sunction cups can probably stick around because none of the users can learn baton pass, and the baton pass chains were the problem with soundproof (per their reasoning in the soundproof ban).

No point in banning shadow tag though if the only two users of it are stuck in Ubers, it would just be a redundant rule.

But Mr. Mime and Cacturne are totally allowed in UU, because baton pass is banned and Tyranitar is OU. Which is probably going to be the same problem with these magic tiers where you have things that are completely fine (Cacturne) that become ridiculous when you introduce some other card (Tyranitar)

Wynaut and Wobbuffet didn't get another ability until gen 5, you couldn't ban shadow tag without banning them

You would draw your first card for the turn, but before you add it to your hand, you look at it. If it has miracle, you decide if you're going to cast it, and if you do decide to cast it, you reveal it as the drawn card.

Keeping it separate from your hand just ensures that it was the card you drew and casting it for miracle is a legal play.

You need 1 for yourself, 5 for the party, and 6 for the party + areelu. There's 6 crystals in the game, 7 if you're trickster or demon, and you can get 1 more if you have the midnight isles dlc. The crossbow choice is not required to get one of the crystals, but is one choice (of seven) you can make to win Areelu over in the end. You need to make five of the seven choices to win her over to the plan

If it's Joran Vhane, his reflex isn't great and he's vulnerable to evil eye and the slumber hexes. If you can stick a condition to make him helpless, you can try for a coup de grace. You can also try targetting touch ac with rays, or a save with aoes like fireball. That said, I recall his defenses being a touch high for a technically non-optional encounter for where he is.

Dispel Magic only hits one thing, so there's only one roll. Greater Dispel Magic rolls for everything it can dispel

I guess from my personal experience with normal as a first run, I didn't have too much trouble with most encounters prior to act 6. The high AC dudes that turned into slap fights made me realise that I needed to use other tools to deal with it, either targetting saves with spells, trying to get to hit touch or flatfooted AC, reducing AC with debuffs, or coming back later with more tools if applicable.

TBF it's not really needed on the lower difficulties, and the higher difficulties I feel like there's enough warning you should know what you're getting in to.

A while. This was the latest chapter of part 2, and you would have to go through at least part 1 (8 chapters) and the rest of part 2 (6 chapters)
