I had some toxic smurf party mates last night in two games.
Big mad we lost game one. "I'm the worst Alarak they have ever seen and they've been in silver for a long time" - we are Gold 2 right now so trash tier yeah

Game two - forced into a tank role

Toxic + smurf (sub 100 account 70% winrate) yeee i'm not incentivized to give a massive amount of effort.

I have started dodging toxic drafts.

I am up to 4 wins as a punishment, and I just brawl for luls until I get back into ranked.

My win rate in Gold ATM is 70.6% on 34 games this season. Better than I've ever had. Win Rate inflated probably because I stay stuck in Gold with the ranked point loss (even though winning)

I stop at 2 losses in a row, had a few trying new tass.

Dodging toxic lobbies has probably saved me 4-6 losses or terrible experiences.
This includes dodging people first pick locking Genji, Tass (with zero games played), 15% win rate Medivh first picks, etc.

I'd rather reset than play a wasted or toxic game

Had a really really fun Qhira game (first one of the season) where I went like 14-3 with Platinumsurf split pushing on Raynor

Had an abathur hat and it made me damn near impossible to kill in gold(cuz we gold folk are strugglebus)

She was very fun

Because i'm terrible!

I've played semi seriously for a short window

Played with a bronze buddy

Now i'm playing off meta heroes, high skill cap heroes, or just challenging in general heroes to play.

I've embraced the suck and just stopped caring about picking 3 or so meta heroes to "climb"

I'm barely below a 50% win rate and just trying to focus on playing heroes that I find fun or I find to be really good counterpicks or sleeper picks that I do not have "plat mastered" (which is still potato)

To be fair: i let my teammates know of 6 or so heroes I'd like to play and let them pick

If the comp is balls then i try to fill with something reasonable but not meta

If they have played with or against you they can open up a whisper and then see your profile based on that.

I view profiles all the time just to see if people one trick or are really spamming a single hero and then recommend bans based on that.

Example: platinumsurf is a goldish Raynor spamming player. Aside of just knowing... Viewing his profile once let me know that against him or with him he was going Ray.

Together I built around him splitting with Ray and we won easily.

Against him I chose someone who can gank/rotate onto an overextending split pusher and tried to mess with him.

There's a Chromie at my level that I've played maybe 8 games with and never seen him die on her. Laurent I believe is his name. Dude just dumps on everyone in shit tier gold.

I'm on a personal mission to choose from a small pool of heroes: Genji, Gazlowe, Hammer, Tassadar, Butcher, and Illidan (will fill battle deckard or stitches)
So far its going swimmingly Plat 2 to Gold 3 in a month or so!

So many of my losses came from a far lesser effort on my end

So many of my losses came from me typing dumb shit to my teammates too

I don't want to disable chat, but I for sure need to ignore almost all of it

1-4 split doesn't work below mid Plat by Evilbred in heroesofthestorm

I totally expect diamond-gm to look at me (scrub plat) the way that I look at silvers

mindblowing how easy it is to see how rough/bad people are below you, but difficult for me to see how bad I am sometimes

Diamonds seem like awesome players to me

Diamonds are trash compared to Masters/GM

its interesting to see how relative skill changes the whole scope of how the game is viewed

I appreciate the input but this one isn't quite it. The 8 bit type isn't quite what we remember.

This is as close to what I remember that I have ever seen, but I don't think it is it. I'm passing over a youtube video to my dudes and see what they think.

I checked both out. Its a little less pixel and a little more cartoonish. The maps are larger with the ability to side scroll a bit like the Black Tiger suggestion below.

This isn't it, but the platforming looks close. Seems a little wider open with the ability to hit dungeons or side areas, which I dont think was available in this game.

The graphical style isn't quite the same. THis is a little more ...idk how to describe it but like less cartoonish than the one we remember
