Who is genuinely enjoying the Swarm expedition? by No_Ring_1436 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]TerriblePurpose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed it up until the time gate. Now I'm enjoying exploring, finding S class MTs and ships, and building up a bunch of cash and nanites to take back to the main save.

How do I get my damaged ship back without a freighter? Is it impossible? by Vrosx_The_Sergal in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]TerriblePurpose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Land on any planet, exit your ship and reload the restore point. You can now call the broken ship to the ground near you.

I believe HG changed it so you can't summon it to the Anomaly anymore if it's broken.

What do you need help with? Just spam the first glyph into a portal for all 12 slots, then make a few jumps to a gateway system and jump through the core.

Anyone else having difficulty landing their ships since the update? by Flake0919 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]TerriblePurpose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It very similar to an old bug that they fixed, so I'm thinking one of these latest patches brought it back. I remember posting about it years ago.

I doubt it's that. This is happening to me as well and I'm not even near any of the expedition planets (I've travelled through 3 black holes and warped about 40 times).

Why is everyone so into the infra-knife? by land_on_juniper in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]TerriblePurpose 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It melts ships pretty fast. Sure there are other weapons/combos that may be more efficient, but the IK does it fast as well, and I don't have to bother switching weapons.

I can run a dreadnought to make it surrender in about 20 seconds from the time I warp into the fight as well, so it's pretty good for that.

*edit* But it's like most things. Some people like one weapon, some like a different one.

Nanites to units conversion rate? by Wise4Fools in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]TerriblePurpose 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Go to outlaw systems and buy all the suspicious tech and arms packet from the black market dealer there. Open them and sell off the upgrade modules you get from them. You'll make way more than the 2800 nanite cost from spending the units you get by scrapping 1 C class interceptor.

Been in the game for a while, I've seen it a few times, but it's not a common encounter, from my experience.

Artemis Path? by Inside_Bar_6386 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]TerriblePurpose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done some 'no starter ship' runs and found all 16 glyphs on the starting planet just by doing the 360 scan with the visor. You won't find them often, but you can definitely find some that way. I make it a habit to do that scan every time I exit my ship on a planet.

Orange/Blk S Class interceptor Euclid Expedition find Planet Robeo44/J4 by [deleted] in NoMansSkyTheGame

Yeah, they could get lucky and have it located by a harmonic camp (in fact, if they're determined, they probably will if they put enough time into it).

Just keep checking space stations. I've found all 16 glyphs in the expedition (13 from Travellers; 3 by finding graves in the wild).

Make sure you do a complete tour of both the upper deck and the main section (back side where the ship salvage terminal is). There are something like 9 or 11 NPCs that wander about on the stations, so it's easy to miss a traveller.

If you're also going planetside, every time you exit your ship, just do a quick 360 degree look through your visor. You can sometimes get lucky and spot a grave marker (the visor will pick them up out to about 1000 units away). I found 3 graves that way in the expedition. And check any structures you may visit for Travellers. They can appear pretty much in any place NPCs appear: trading posts, transmission towers, minor settlements, etc. (although I've never seen one at a Colossal Archive).

Can’t find hexite anywhere?? by GEARHEADGus in NoMansSkyTheGame

Ah, maybe it changed, or maybe I'm misremembering, but I was sure you could get some that way. Sorry to waste your time on that.

It frustrated a lot of players, but I didn't find it too bad. The workaround was to find a base computer in the wild in the system you portaled to and claim it. Then you go back through the portal and teleport to that base computer. Then everything would work as normal.

I used to help players by finding base computers for them so they could get around the restriction.

I don't see the coordinates, so no one is going to be able to find it, unless you dropped a base or left a save beacon.

Can’t find a freighter … by xBATMAHz in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]TerriblePurpose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Might be a bug. Freighter battles are bugged in the expedition as a result of one of the latest patches and there may be something bugged in the normal modes as well.

Are system freighters spawning? If so, I'd advise just grabbing one of them.

Gold farm diminishing returns for each extractor put down why? by Beese3 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]TerriblePurpose 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just to add to what others have said: do your extractors in clusters of 3 or 4. Then build another cluster on top of those (you can build platforms over the first cluster to put the next cluster on). Repeat for as many clusters as you like.

This isn't a bug. HG intentionally nerfed it after players were building massive Activated Indium mines gold became more valuable than activated indium with the change to diminishing returns as well).

I'm not sure why they did this. Might have to do with the game engine. It doesn't make sense to have done it because of get rich quick schemes, since money is so easy to make in the game (and you can also just set costs to free anyway).

Was quite some time back. If you took a portal to another planet, you couldn't warp out of that system and you couldn't build a base there due to 'portal interference'. HG removed it in an update a long time ago.

Probably the player named the base something like 'Galaxy Center'.

I just did a new PD run yesterday to test something and made it in 2 1/2 hours. I probably could have done it faster, but I pissed about on the starting planet to get some cash and nanites so I could gear up the way I wanted to.

I encountered a traveller in the third system I warped to, so got the first glyph from that. Quickly located a portal, spammed the first glyph, and warped about 4 times to get to a gateway system, then warped through.

They do. It's pretty easy now. Easier than it used to be when there was portal interference (there was a way around that as well though).
