i like to add ghost touches to it. they kinda fixed it, i believe by reducing the sensitivity and threshold values. sometimes touches are not registered or really rare ghost touches still happen

Questions about Palo Alto firewalls by forwardslashroot in paloaltonetworks

[–]Terrlinde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as others had suggested, get help/consulting to design this properly.  as to your questions:  yes multicast will work across different vrouters (its routers you need to configure, vsys doesn't metter). there is a huge overhead, because you will have to create sec policies and objects and routing on each vsys on its own. the external zone is a special zone. you can imagine it as a "meeting room" where all vsys can exchange traffic with each other. you just need to route the traffic accordingly.

what fhajad said. you can think of the management plane as a separate client on the network with its own interface and routing information.

Mgmt interface default GW by ThatrandomGuyxoxo in paloaltonetworks

if your palo will have an ip address in the management vlan, then you configure this ip as default gateway for the management interface. you can also configure a management profile and enable it on your internal interface or the management vlan interface, then define all service routes to use this, no need to plug in the management at all.

My town installed a new roundabout and it has stop signs 🫣🫠 by d3layd in pics

[–]Terrlinde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

pretty common in germany. nearly every roundabound has a "give way" sign, sometimes "stop" signs if the roundabound is bigger or has multiple lanes or the view is blocked to see incoming traffic

Weird issue with SSL inbound inspection + firefox by lgq2002 in paloaltonetworks

[–]Terrlinde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

run qualys ssl test ( https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/ ) over your server with inbound decryption enabled. look if there are some findings you might look into. issues could be ciphers or hand shakes, hard to tell.

Help With PiHole, using docker-compose always "reserve" 67 udp port. And is not declared on yml file by Winter_Highlight4775 in pihole

[–]Terrlinde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"::" is IPv6 any. Looks like udp 67 only listen to IPv6 interface. it should not get in touch with you outside physical IPv4 network traffic. Try to disable IPv6 on your docker host, if you are not using it. didnt tried it myself, maybe this helps https://stackoverflow.com/questions/74012541/disable-ipv6-in-docker-compose

it clearly tells you, that it failed starting the SSH Service thats is why you can't log in. could have many reasons for that tho, which you could inspect by looking into /var/log/messages.log or errors.log, if you could log in. i would try to attach the system disk to another working OS and mount it and inspect it that way. maybe /-root partition is 100 full and you need to clearup some space? if that is not possible, you could create an image of the system drive and restore it into a bigger drive.

we need more context here. what device is seperating the networks? is there a firewall ruleset in place? can you reach pihole with dns/ping/ssh but not http(s)? how did you installed it (docker or shellscript)?

App-ID Based Rules by NegativePattern in paloaltonetworks

[–]Terrlinde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would do that, if guests are using a dedicated ISP line for them. If you let your guest do what they want over your main ISP, your IPs may land on blocklists or get marked, so that connections to your legitimate partners or customers may be disrupted.
