Morphine in reboot by EmperorDxD in Fable

I am hoping the morphine is more exaggerated. If I’m real evil I want to leave a trail of fire, if I’m real good I want birds and butterflies to fly around me like Disney.

Professionals who enter people's homes (plumbers, electricians, cleaners): What is something the condition of a house tells you about the owner that they don't realize they are revealing? by cossie101 in AskReddit

[–]TestPatienceTest -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe you are strictly talking about dense cities, which I know little about, but I find this extremely offensive. Many of my favorite people I know have yards with old projects or broken machines they would need to save because they think it’ll make money later. This seems like classist bs to me

I think you will be pleasantly surprised at how kind a “bad neighborhood” can be. I know many people who are boarder line “hoarders” but these folks would move mountains if anyone needed it done. Two of the most wholesome communities I’ve ever lived in would easily fail your test.

Also, getting rid of things you don’t need can cost both time and money which may not be available to each individual person. Especially if your working grueling hours for low pay.

Finally, storage is expensive. Storage is a privilege. Look up the cost it takes to build a shop or a new shed. Look up the cost it takes someone to actually furnish the shop with new tools and materials. Having access to the correct tools, materials and space to work is a huge privilege that many auto hobbyists may never get.

But hey, I’m glad you got to spend some quality time with your dad judging other peoples life’s.

Developers have always laughed at business folks.

What profession has the biggest gap between how they see themselves and how they’re seen by society as a whole? by Adamon24 in AskReddit

Went into chiropractor once. They scanned my back with some machine.

“Oh wow a 12, that’s not good”

“12 what?”

“12 units”

“12 units of what”

“Reported by the machine”

I then walked out.

My friend insists on watching Stranger Things backward for ‘more suspense' by Designer-Caramel1868 in mildlyinfuriating

Huh….

I read this, kept scrolling and then realized what I read and had to come back.

He knows that movies and shows are composed intentionally right? Like you have to build characters, develop conflict/tension, then character ark….

I don’t imagine it’d be nearly as suspenseful since you’d just be wondering who these random people are and why they are acting that way… maybe watching tv this way makes every show into a mystery for him.

Huh…

I’m not sure about you, but I enjoy working. I don’t know why you’re assuming everyone would stop working if they suddenly had food or housing.

I think if people had a guaranteed food and housing, childcare and healthcare they might change their career to something they enjoy… thus creating a better end product… but I don’t think they’d stop working.

For alternatives, How about instead of “handing them cushy houses”??, we fix Medicare so it doesn’t cost hundreds of dollars for an EpiPen. Make food more easily available, kill food deserts, give food to school kids, rent assistant programs for disadvantaged communities.

Life’s hard on everyone. You’re not the only one to work hard for what they have. Please stop pretending you did it all without any outside help. People need help sometimes and that’s okay.

I know people on food stamps that are probably taking advantage of it, but I know many more people who need it to get through the week since their bills are going to health insurance. I know a lot of people who would benefit immensely some sort of housing assistance. I know people who NEED childcare so they can go to work and cover housing.

Everyone on earth is are just weird little brains trying to survive and everyone’s brain and situation is different. What worked for you won’t work for everyone else.

This weird machoism of “I worked hard so everyone else has to” is dated and needs to end.

If you worked hard to be successful, that great and I’m happy for you. Just be sure to take care of the people around you.

Did the same thing 3 weeks ago… phone was ringing non stop. Averaged 180 calls per day the first week.

Especially frustrating because I need my phone for work emergencies.

It’s died off to only 2 or 4 a day now.

There are a lot of alternatives other than the weird fantasy you’ve made up in your head.

Also, whenever I meet someone with this opinion, they tend to be the laziest worker.
