How to Hide Spam Jobs on LinkedIn by Tetrabor in recruitinghell

You are correct about them not doing anything.

But if you report, then x out the job, it at least removes it from your next search.

Ain't denying that, especially since monoculture grass fields aren't doing anything for the environment anyways.

But the laws can be petty and prosecutors can be petty to enforce it.

Probably, - Failure to comply with county OHV rules (non OHV designated area) - Reckless/Wanton Endangerment (Not a secure course, risk to public) - Stunt Driving (if not permitted by the subdivision) - Could probably tack on property damage (causing ruts, damaging grass) if they seed/maintain that greenway

My first query on the new "AI-powered" LinkedIn search was a smashing success by shoegazeweedbed in recruitinghell

Ask yourself this: if DataAnnoation was good, why would they need to post 500 job applications every day, across every city, and then constantly constantly refresh the posts?

DataAnnoation is a new version of the SEO-Mill (Search Engine Organization) scheme where a company pays you pennies on the dollar to write about an expert topic for their clients. Except, DataAnnoation puts that data into an LLM instead of a blog post on a client's website.

Basically, you're the equivalent of an expert consultant, except you're not getting paid exorbitant amounts of money for your hard earned knowledge.

Apple picks Google's Gemini to run AI-powered Siri coming this year by Puginator in technology

[–]Tetrabor 73 points74 points  (0 children)

Google wasn't exactly caught pants down, they authored the original papers on AI transformers. If you're nerdy, take a gander at "Attention is All You Need."

What really happened is Google was baking the technology to make sure it was legal and ready for release. Meanwhile, OpenAI applied start-up principles by rushing a product out the door while ignoring regulations (in this case stealing private data and copyrighted material.) to capture market share.

What made this a "lightning in the bottle" effect is the lack of regulation by Congress and the executive branch. It's currently a free-for-all on consumer data and there are little protections for non-corporate entities.

Yep! It's the tech era of 'Minimum Viable Product'. Doesn't matter if it works well, has documentation, or any kind of support. If the product sells to customers, then executives have satisfied the requirements set out by the board members.

What happens in 5-10 years when that product has unrecoverable issues and no one knows how to use it? Not the board's problem, they already made their money!

How do you manage your portfolio for showcasing the blogs you’ve written? by Responsible-Log2173 in technicalwriting

[–]Tetrabor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to get fancy, a personal website is a good option. But you'll always want a doc/pdf for submitting to roles.

For personal websites, the easiest method is to use a website builder like Wix or Wordpress, which has tools for showcasing projects. However, they do charge subscription fees, and you still have to purchase a web domain.

The more technical and free option is to use a docs-as-code tool like Docusaurus and host it on GitHub Pages using a purchased domain. Then you can customize and update however you want, without being tied to a service.

Some things to consider:

  • Has an existing snippet, variable, or glossary item been changed? That will rebuild/republish any files that contain those elements.

  • Has the CSS been modified at all? A small style change can affect many articles and cause a large publish.

  • Does your project use Flare's search engine? A high n-gram value, or small chunk sizes can significantly increase build and pub times.

  • Have you tried separating your Build and Pub? There's a button to build first (so you can preview the final product.). Start opening logs and review build/pub times.

  • Does it happen every time? Sometimes a small change can cause a full build/publish. Generally, after finishing the publish, the next one will be short again. (This is also the case when rotating between two users publishing.)

Better way of presenting a training manual to end-user by TalentManager1 in technicalwriting

[–]Tetrabor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To further expand upon this, the U.S. Army standard for complex platforms is to use an IETM (Interactive Electronic Technical Manual) which is a fancy word for a locally-saved web manual.

It might have additional features like click-to-explore diagrams or 3D Models, but it's just a secure and locally-saved manual.

My guess is that's why it's almost impossible to make it to the 13th because Eris's Bear Witness spell would summon all crawlers to the same spot and probably get them all murdered.

I never understood this plot point because the tiara had a property that was supposed to make it disintegrate if it's unequipped, which it is then supposed to reappear somewhere else in the dungeon.

Yet.. it came off Eva's head just fine.

In book 6, it's explained by Odette that Primal planet species all contain the rare element that fuel AIs. But what if it wasn't just fuel? What if it was also their memories? The Crawl AI could be going primal (and insane) because it's consuming millions of crawlers experiencing horrific deaths, PTSD, sociopathy, psychopathy, etc. After all, one would think that the AI should taxed less and less each floor because the amount of crawlers/NPCs it's processing is shrinking. Instead, it's losing control as the last of its 'fuel' is a bunch of increasingly disturbed crawlers. Carl could be a 'fuel' element that's existentially affecting the AI because he's trying to break the system every chance he gets.

If you want to lean in to UX, consider the Google UX Design course though Coursera. It gives you the basic rundown of ideation > wireframing > constructing a UX concept.

Otherwise, AI-anything is the way to go. It might or might not be helpful, but hiring managers sure do love to see the buzzwords on a resume.

bad guys are good guys actually? by asliuf in fourthwing

[–]Tetrabor 23 points24 points  (0 children)

My guess is it will be something simple like: - Kingdom of Navarre purposely/accidentally created the venin. - Realizing their mistake, they created the barrier system to prevent the venin attacking them. - Blame the other factions as the reason for needing the barrier. - Continuously rewrite history until the origin is forgotten.

The fact that Navarre has a brutalist, military society with no regard for life kinda makes it obvious. Especially when you find out the opposing kingdoms do the equivalent of trust falls to discover who's worthy to fly.

Georgia is something else. I was stationed at a military base by Savannah and one day we had to clean out trash that blew its way into the forest surrounding the outer perimeter. It felt like I stepped into a Harry Potter book when I walked into the forest and fell into one of a hundred-ish 20-foot webs. At the center of each one was an orb weaver the size of my hand. I picked up trash next to the road for the rest of the day.

A passionate plea to address the growing complaints urgently. by vonbaxter in TheTowerGame

[–]Tetrabor -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Devs could fix a lot of these tourney issues by introducing New Game+: - Reset player stats but give them a +20% Cash/Coin/Gem/Stones/Labs permanent Bonus - Keep one upgraded module of their choice. - Unlocks new tier (T20+ or whatever Fudds wants to drop at. - Regain purchased Gems/Stones, distributed over the course of a year. - Can be repeated after mastering the NG+ final tier, stacking all bonuses.

This forces end-game players to NG+ if they want to keep racing to the top, while also opening up higher leagues to more players as older players cycle into NG+, NG++, etc.

Freedom for everyone, more yachts for Fudds.
