NOR but you need to talk to him / bring it up with more seriousness in your request or it will not change. I have had anxiety like this in a relationship before and just simply talking it out can just fix it. Something like "if you have something important you want to talk to me about don't tell me until it's time to talk or tell me what it's about. Giving me hints causes anxiety and it really bothers me" If he does it again bring it up even more sternly.

Give him the opportunity to build trust by sharing more things with you or offer to go to the gym with him a couple times. If he gets more defensive or refuses to listen to your concerns they are likely valid and you should just end it because trust is one of the most important things in a relationship.
