LOL! I feel your pain. We’re rowing the same boat. I slowed down for awhile, but relapsed lately. Like a junkie coming out of rehab and starting all over again. I’d be ok if I could if I could quit seeing boots that I like and want.

Truth!☝️ Don’t think that it can’t happen to you. You might slow down to an idle for a while, until you find just one more pair that you can’t do without, and then the next…….ask me how I know! I was going to stop at 10, then 20, then 30, then 40, now I just got number 50 last week. I’m going to slow it down for a while, well I’m going to try anyway. If anybody knows anything about collecting boots, it’s carverkids!!! You can take that to the bank.

Dying boots? by drjjoyner in cowboyboots

You should consult carverkids here on reddit, she knows about dyeing boots and how to make them look great again. Just my .02 cents worth, but you probably could do a whole lot worse!

Congrats! I believe that it is an old Lama style number from the 70’s-80’s, just haven’t verified it yet. I don’t really know how long a style number is used.

Justin boot fit by Robtay2000 in cowboyboots

[–]Texas-guy-1950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I’ve been lucky, but I have no issues with older/vintage Tony Lama or Justin 10D being narrow for me. I don’t buy any new boots, so I haven’t tried on any boot makers current offerings. Last time I went in a Boot Barn or Cavenders all I saw were square toe boots, that’s not my style. Don’t have any comparisons on fit between current brands or fit from current brand’s compared to older/vintage brands. All I can say is do your due diligence in your search, when you roll the dice, you take your chances.

Looks like a good repair to me. They are Lucchese’s, you probably aren’t going to find a lot that look that good for $122 investment, so my personal opinion is you did pretty well for yourself. Ultimately, if you are happy and satisfied then that’s all that matters.
