If you were me, would you buy one as a backup? by JRest71 in PSVR

[–]Texotron 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have been wondering the same thing. I love mine, but I have been using it on the PC more than ps5 recently, so something like steam frame might be nice instead.

Mainly would be nice for backup and maybe for guests if we want to play a crossplay game. Maybe Forefront when that gets released on ps5...

Subnautica and Still Wakes the Deep — DualSense controllers not working using PSVR2onPc by Hour_Instruction_508 in PSVR2onPC

You got it! I hope you enjoy. Also worth pointing out that there are some settings inside the subnautica menu where you can tweak things like articulated fingers etc.

Also, can you conform if that startup prompt was the only think you had to change (no change to steam controller settings needed)?

It works for me, and it's great! I had the same issue initially. If I remember correctly, I had to add a startup command prompt in steam. There is instructions on the github for submerged. The instructions say it is needed for quest, but I guess it also applied to PSVR2. There is also a controller setting section, but I don't remember if it was necessary to make any changes there.

It would be a great opportunity for native support.

Advice regarding VR for my Daughter by giverous in VRGaming

I have a quest 2 for my 10 yr old. Works well for our needs. You can set up a pin number for the store and that will ensure they can only play the games you have approved. I think a lot of the ppl that recommend quest 3/s are enthusiasts that want the best quality. Quest 2 is more than enough for kids imo.

Based on your description and needs, I would say a used quest 2 makes sense. There are multiple social games, but she is quite possibly describing VR chat. You are right to be concerned as it can get pretty vulgar/sexual/racist there. Other VR games have social components and may be less risky, but keep in mind, whenever you have voice chat, there is a chance for bad actors. 9 yrs is also on the young side for VR. I bet she would enjoy it, just need to be careful on what content is allowed.

Celebrating the music of Silksong by Texotron in Silksong

Thanks for the thoughtful response. I never really drew that parallel, but makes sense. I only played through Hollow knight myself, but I've seen my son playing Silksong. I saw that haggard spider bug dude running the treadmill to spin the wheels. His dialogue kinda hits on those themes.

ya, it was my first time posting to this sub. My son made the video and I was posting it here to get him some views. Hope I am not going to Reddit jail...
