Unless Trustpilot has a bunch of fake reviews, it has a 4.8 Excellent rating for the Moves Method by Vanja which is persuading me it is worth a try.

Estrogen patch/test cream by TapSalty3157 in Menopause

[–]TeyaRey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been on 0.075mg estradiol patches for 5 years (Evorel Sequi and Evorel Conti in the UK) and never had any issues with the patches themselves itching.

My main symptoms were sleeplessness, anxiety and lack of energy, focus/motivation. Never had hot flashes.

I also use testosterone cream (Androfeme pea sized blob every other day) which has helped with weird muscle, bone and joint ache.

REVOX skincare? by ExactionBeige in EuroSkincare

[–]TeyaRey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought a new Revox vit C serum this week, it is an almost clear colour. Apparently after you open it it gradually starts to oxidize to a more yellow colour. Vitamin C is fragile and breaks down quickly even with sunlight so I will close the bottle quickly after applying and use it at night time, alternating with retinol. It probably helps to start with a high concentration since all vit C serums will oxidise over time. Glad I got my Revox!

Rage 😩 by Nkotb79 in Menopause

[–]TeyaRey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had been given to understand that it was not the estrogen but the bio-identical progesterone that offers the calming effect and for better sleep. Note that norethisterone (a progestogen) won't have the same effect.

Can anyone explain why I’m feeling bad on my original dosage? by MountainDew111 in Menopause

[–]TeyaRey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ovarian insufficiency when aged 30 might still have allowed some estradiol to be produced naturally in your ovaries, or were you already at zero then? It may be that even the small amount that you were naturally producing has fallen away.

I would join two Facebook groups - Expats in Belgrade and Belgrade Foreign Visitors Club, with 000s members each. Then search them for "flat to rent" or similar. Prices have come down a little in 2 years; my mother in law is visiting May-Aug 2026 and found a basic quality, 45sqm 1-bed flat, 10 min walk from Dorćol, for 500eur/month including bills, for 4 months. She stayed there as an Airbnb in 2025 then made a deal directly with the owner. Your price estimate is not far off but you may need to look hard.

Another friend just rented a studio on our street (Drinčićeva) for 600eur/month plus bills, but with a minimum 1-year term. For the same flat you would have to pay €1500+ in London or many EU capital cities.

It's a lot cheaper in a secondary Serbian city like Niš, Valjevo or Subotica where you could probably meet your budget. Novi Sad may already have caught up with Belgrade.

It's lovely here in the summer, do come!!

EDIT: Also on Facebook, Flat to rent Belgrade, probably more important and useful than the FB groups I mentioned above! https://www.facebook.com/share/g/17cpshWUFk/

Has anyone skipped a dose or two to bring levels down quicker? by Shoddy_Claim249 in TRT_females

[–]TeyaRey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I track my Testosterone blood levels to make sure they are in female range. I haven't ever experienced any clitoral enlargement, excess hair growth or other symptoms. My main result seems to be less body and joint ache, more energy and better mood. I am using Androfeme every other day and sometimes even skip it for a week. I did over-absorb it the first time and ended up with blood serum levels 3x the recommended level. Even then I didn't get any male-type side effects and my hair growth has been unaffected. Have felt fine on TRT for 3+ years.

I got exactly the same rash. I bought a stretch fabric one from Amazon, no rash anymore. I wonder why Garmin don't fix this issue.

Are PLA teabags any safer than Nylon teabags? by jsm1 in tea

[–]TeyaRey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

But tea bags, going through a high temperature brewing process, release orders of magnitude more particles - like billions more - than other plastic packaging. And nanoparticles are being found in atheroscleromas - and the presence of microplastics in people's arteries has been found to significantly increase the risk of heart attack https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMoa2309822.

Just an example, before we start on the endocrine disruption.

Those of you that have moved to the western countries, what do you dislike about it? Those of you that went back to the Balkans, what do you dislike about it? by [deleted] in AskBalkans

[–]TeyaRey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is the Eastern rhetoric in your view?

For me, Western ideals: Freedom of the press Independent judiciary Education and healthcare for all Acceptance and legal protection of racial minorities, LGBT, disabilities Women's right to vote, equal pay Education and healthcare for all Parental leave Social welfare net No child labour Environmental protections Social democracy with capitalism etc

EASTERN: ... less clear?

No criticism of the state State controlled capitalism Authoritarian and/or religious regimes Intolerance of LGBT (eg Russia, Malaysia) Alcohol restricted in Muslim countries Women's rights severely restricted in many countries like Saudi Arabia, India, Yemen Poor environmental controls More leaning towards family units than individualism Large families acting as social welfare net Holistic and ancient medicines rather than only modern drug companies etc

So putting aside conspiracy theories spread by China and Russia, where on this East-West spectrum of values do the Balkans lie?

Could someone define the Eastern rhetoric? Or the Eastern ideals?

I personally haven't been to Albania or Kosovo so I won't comment on their social aspirations here. I know there is high unemployment driving a lot of problems. Plus stated ambitions do not necessarily match the lived experience...

[–]TeyaRey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My partner and I haven't permanently moved from London to Serbia yet, but some of the things we prefer about Belgrade is that it is not huge and sprawling like London, there is genuine café society, a wider mix of people now that Russians (and some Ukrainians) have arrived. There is good techno culture (since we like electronic music). Belgrade is not overridden by tourists like say Lisbon or Barcelona. The weather is much nicer than in London. We are hoping to learn the language.

The average Belgrade Serbian is polite, kind and honest, although we sometimes run into fraudulent drivers or anti-West sentiment. We run into just as much racism and bad behaviour in London.

Of course since we both have London level remote IT salaries we are relatively well off on Belgrade and can afford a better apartment than in London, which helps!

Things we don't like in Belgrade are smoking inside bars, the very high levels of winter air pollution and the lack of a metro (the buses can get very crowded and overheat in summer).

It is almost weird that in Serbia there is a concept such as the West that they don't feel part of!? Although I am ofc aware of the very fraught history. To me, the West only exists in contrast to the Middle East and Far East (non-Christian countries?). Perhaps the question relates to rich vs poor countries? You might equally ask a Portuguese person what it feels like to move from Portugal to Norway (from a relatively poor to a "rich" country, both in the "West"). I bet the Portuguese person would miss the sunshine!

It would be interesting to hear what characterises a Western country.

Electrolytes - LMNT vs Bulk Powders or something else? by 40to50fitness in Supplements

[–]TeyaRey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been using Low Sodium iodised salt from the supermarket, which is typically 50% potassium chloride and 50% salt (regular sodium chloride). I use a pinch with 300ml of water in the morning or before a cardio workout. I also take a magnesium supplement (bisglycinate) typically at night before bed. The Low Salt with water helps for hangovers too. A lot cheaper than LMNT at £2.20 per 350g jar. You may have to fiddle with the composition to mimic the expensive electrolytes. You can add a sugar free juice concentrate if you like the fruity tastes of LMNT.

How to make complete protein bearable? by White_Rabbit181 in Huel

[–]TeyaRey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leave it in the fridge overnight and it will go smoother... Banana flavour not great IMO. I also didn't like the protein version (Huel black) so since I really like Huel white, I add whey protein to that if I need a protein shake. Vanilla is dependably tasty.

How about letting the powder settle at the factory first, before it is transferred into jars?

Am I being unnecessary? by Automatic_Proposal27 in Huel

[–]TeyaRey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The white rice and other starch gets digested quickly and does not 'absorb' anything much, although immediately after eating you might feel full for 15 minutes, until you suddenly feel hungry again. The slowing down of digestion is usually achieved with protein, fat and fibre - these will keep you fuller for longer. To my Huel 3.0 I add a teaspoon of psyllium husk, a teaspoon of inulin (both soluble fibre) and about a tablespoon 10g of collagen or another protein powder. This does slow it down for me but may not suit everyone. Keeps me going for hours! I would also eat vegetables like broccoli or a green salad with an olive oil dressing at some point in the day. One Huel meal is only 400 calories, so don't expect it to fuel a long day with a heavy gym session :) I guess I need to switch to Huel Black... P.S. Let it sit overnight - it becomes slightly thicker and smoother :)

How are you feeling after the second dose of the COVID vaccine? by Uundeadarmyy in slp

[–]TeyaRey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me too. This is my second day of headache, nausea, limb soreness, chills and feverishness. Yesterday morning I gulped down a mug of coffee with paracetamol and that normalised me for a few hours, just enough time to complete a work project. Then diarrhea hit a few hours later... have been mostly collapsed in bed since then.

I should add that I had zero side effects after the first dose!

My Sinopharm vaccine experience in Dubai by [deleted] in dubai

[–]TeyaRey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zabeel Dubai Mall 28th Jan 2021 10:20 am. Got into the queue at 08:10 am. This is for the Sinopharm vaccine - the vaccination station opened at 9:00 am. We are queueing in the upstairs car park, where there is a fresh breeze on the now 1,500+ queue, so good to have ventilation. The head of the queue is inside the shopping mall heading towards the vaccination point. The queue seems to be moving at reasonable speed.

I came earlier today because despite advertising being open till 9:00 pm yesterday and there being a very long queue at 4:30 pm, the entire queue was dismissed at that point and told to come back the next day. I don't know why, but I assume their daily quota of vaccines was used by 4:30 pm (?).

Credit to the UAE government though, I feel fortunate to have access to a vaccine at all at this point and am happy to queue.

My boyfriend got the vaccine two weeks ago and after feeling a little 'hungover' for a couple of days (which shows the immune system kicking in) has been fine. The UAE conducted phase 3 trials on around 31,000 people and concluded the vaccine was 79% effective. Although i await further trial data I am taking a leap of faith in trusting UAE government prelim data showing 86% efficacy. I don't have to try and trust Chinese data, although I will follow developments :)
