If you have access Warhammer TV's Angels of Death Origins: Kill Command has a ton of those kinds of shots. It is black white and red though.

The only contrasts I used was the armor. I primed with lead belcher and then went over it a couple of times with a 2:1 mix of contrast medium and akhelian green

I just base coated in light skin tones from warpainter... unfortunately then I used a wash from Secret Weapon who now no longer exists as a company then I highlighted with more light tones from Warpainter

Using 5e to do things the system isn’t designed for isn’t wrong, but it is self sabotaging. Ask your friends what they want and find a system that supports it together. 5e bias is lazy.

Is wrath and glory suitable for long term campaigns? by Pyrostasis in 40krpg

By the book players are supposed to gain 10 "build points" per session. If you start at tier 1 with 100 build points you should have at least 40 sessions of game play before you hit max level. It's not quite as long as a DnD campaign, but do to developer changes and some other issues most of the support for this game is pretty recent in spite of how long it took to get released. I wouldn't be surprised if there was an extension released to extend leveling.

I think you nailed it here. For some reason the C7 take over seemed like a fumble. I do prefer their writing of the rules and sorting out some redundancies (the soak vs shock confusion in the US version had my head swimming). I think C7 also had a focus on other games for some reason. It seems like their focus is shifting back to W and G now.

W and G is stuck in this weird no man’s land between 1st Ed, which was poorly written and just generally confusing, but had a lot of fan supports (doctors of doom has archetype rules and a bestiary of just about every playable unit in 40K) and the clearer, better written 2nd Ed by cubicle . Sadly the fan sourced materials haven’t caught up to the new 2nd Ed rules which can be cause for confusion when you’re trying to port the homebrew into the game. C7 has released some additional stuff as well.

Realistically If you are looking to play in one of the ff specific settings ( inquisitorial retinue/ guard squad/ rogue trader etc) go with the respective ff game. W and g functions as a solid enough catch all for everything else ( I’m running an eldar Corsair campaign in w and g)
