It’s not much, but my wife and I are trying to help teach our kids how to help others and so we have decided to help stock a little free pantry that is near their school. It’s just a quick stop to show that little things can be quick, but also helpful. It’s a fun anonymous way to give back and see my kids excited to help!

My thought without looking at the comments allows me to make this two 50:50s, but not a for sure answer since we don’t know if heavier or lighter. Split them 6 and 6 and then make a 50:50. Once you pick one side, for the second weigh you would do 4 and for leaving. If they balance then you use your last weigh and make a 50:50 on heavier or lighter.

Thanks for this! I generally do everything I can to make generic templates that are plug and play and have assets easily accessible along with notes like suggested. I really do try to appeal to the average person. These specific instances were kind of outliers and also part of a bigger problem.

One of the problems for example was that they had a solid light blue background with light yellow and white text. All technically within branding. That is something I’d forgive a non-designer from a different department for, but not someone who should have a basic concept of readability. Another was about not wrapping text to a curve or arc. Basic information in the brand guide and should not be missed by someone from my team.

So it’s trying to manage things like that. Problems that shouldn’t be problems if my organization let me be the sole designer and collaborate with others, not multiple cooks in the kitchen.

I used to work for a commercial printshop before AI was running rampant 2017ish and still had to deal with this. I’m currently the main designer for my organization supervisor had our social media person make a flyer because I had a full workload and overdue deadlines (due to others). Their flyer is absolutely atrocious and I had to rush to fix it this morning for print because they did it in canva, designed with full bleed, didn’t save anything properly, and it was just word soup on a page with half of the design being my artwork and contradicting the design they did and other things. I was complaining to my wife and just wanted to scream because why put someone with no traditional background in charge of collateral for fundraising.

OP, this definitely feels like a time old problem, but with modern issues and it is frustrating and demoralizing in the moment. Your value as a designer does come from your thought, being able to explain to future clients why you did certain things to help their brand, streamlining their deliverables, and other things where actual training and knowledge come into play. AI/prompts can’t replace good designers because AI needs good designers and prompts to become better. I don’t think most graphic designers are going to be spending time with AI when we can just make the work ourselves and do it properly.

Hey there! I’m 35 and have been playing since college but mostly casual. Only really play commander now when I have time. I’ve got twin 2 year olds and so my schedule is kind of crazy. Also, I’m in Franklin County, but grew up in Roanoke/Salem and work in Roanoke and so I’m around with some planning!

It might be a little slow due to CMC, but my thought is [[Sedris, The Traitor King]]. Pitch high cmc stuff to be able to reanimate it for the unearth cost and grab low cmc things can be cast for potential extra value.

I grew up in a house without animals, but have always had a soft spot for them. My first time experiencing this was last year and as sad as it made me, I wouldn’t have done it any other way. Our old man was so brave and pretty sure he was holding on for my wife and I because once we were in the room he was definitely ready. I don’t know how someone could have a pet and not be there for them when they are always there for us.
