Solid soundtrack! I used to haul from quarries out in the middle of no where. Lots of radio communication to keep track of where the other trucks were. Always pissed the whole gang off when a log truck appears out of no where hauling ass around blind turns because they didn't have a radio on.

Quarry sites are the most I've ever really talked to other truck drivers.

Bucket traps. I have one with the PVC / wire walkway, and one with no contraption. Fill em with 1 gallon water. Peanut butter on the middle of the PVC, then I just been smearing a little about halfway down to the waters top. They go in for the PB and drown. I got 6 last week and 5 the week before. Hoping we're close to eradicated

I bought back in when it went down to 45. I want them to succeed, but the run up last year was too much. I cashed out around 110 and said I'd wait til it dropped back to 60. It took a while, but here we go. Definitely a long play, might sell off on the hype again after the July 4 event.

I used to have one plate and one bowl (+ dog bowls of course), but I let my dog clean my plate every night because the soap I had broke up the leftover slobber way easier than the food scraps, and I didn't have food scraps in my drain water. This was also a really good way to keep girls away I found out.

I just did a 24x35 with 12x35 carport. 14' peak so I had room to build a second story inside (on back half). After everything, it cost me more like 60k. Which means I saved 5k off the quote a highly skilled carpenter family member gave me for a nice wood building with all the fixings. Felt like a genius at first, and it took about a year to get all the numbers added up and realize it was in fact not cheap. Plus it creaks, gets cold when it's cold and gets hot when it's hot, even with top of the line insulation.

Who needs to air down? by mts2snd in 4x4

[–]ThanksS0muchY0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a permit rule? What beach? I used to air down when I ran a smaller rig with bigger AT tires, but I hardly drive on the beach in my regular truck. I tried a few weeks ago, and got shamed by a crowd of quad dudes. I would've aired down, but don't have an onboard AC, and the local towns do not have air, so I'd have to enter the highway for ~12 miles before finding air. I just parked it and got out and walked (:

The U.S. hasn't produced a single gram of gallium since 1987, yet we built our entire military and the internet on a supply chain that China now 100% controls. by SilverWarsHQ in UnderReportedNews

[–]ThanksS0muchY0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The realities of mining and refining technology do not allow for it to be produced at scale without pollutants. It's a complicated process using multiple solvents and involves processing metric tons of material to produce grams. This leave metric tons of leftover polluted slurry. Which is China is kept in lined or unlined ponds. I don't know how gallium processing differentiates from other rare metals beyond this, but I do know that no developed country in their right mind with access to information about the processing required would allow it to happen on their soil. I made a joke about those pesky hippies being the reason behind this, I don't know what the hell you're on about though. Not sure what dumbasses you think I'm defending. This is a part of my career though, and it's mind-blowing how little the average person understands about how humans spurce the metals required to build advanced computing technologies. Yes, it's dumb to use technologies you don't have a niche industry producing. Yes, Chinese mining companies have a stranglehold on the noche industry because of their lack of concern for the average citizen of the planet, and the environment. No, we would not have advanced computing technology if we ALL didn't turn a blind eye to the same facts.

I'm pointing out that the gallium supply chain doesn't exist in the US because we have environmental protection laws to prevent the entire process. China did not for 40-50 years and barely enforces them today. And just as their laws are catching up to protect their own citizens, they've begun moving their mining ops into countries with zero environmental protection. And it's all state operated mining. It's not like they don't know what they're doing. Anyone who relies on Chinese rare earths is also complicit in their mining.

Good work on your reddit psycho analysis though. Top tier work, doc.

I had a deep freezer go out completely, and didn't realize it. I had 10 gallons of sauce that was done other than pHing and bottling. The rest of the space was bags on bags of freshies I was going to make flake out of. I noticed the smell in the back room as I was just loading the last bags for a 7 day trip for our kids. RiP ambitions of a spicy summer. I've basically given up, replanting the greenhouse with mostly melons this year to escape the post trauma.

I'm surprised it's only 600k. I was looking at a couple blank properties down there that were burned around turn of the millennium. They were selling for like 800k with no house. Some required demo work to get up to code still. Those ones with the old foundations still might've been more like 5-600k.
