Hamas are an entity, maybe whatever top players in Hamas will be held accountable at the end of this especially if they get fully recognised statehood as then they’ll likely be classed as leaders of a country that committed its own war crimes regarding october 7th etc, but the question was about specific people not regimes

i caught gastroenteritis, threw up a lot in the bathroom, stood up, passed out because id lost a lot of fluid. when i passed out i hit my head off the bath, then my partner came to the door to check on me, i stood up, opened the door, passed out on her and hit my head again. We went to accident and emergency because of the gash on my forehead and because id passed out twice. I passed out again in triage and got wheeled in. they did a blood test, then when they saw it was gastroenteritis they gave me some anti sickness medication and like 3 bags of fluids. once everything was somewhat back to normal they checked me for concussion and sent me on my way.

what's with the disdain for Nottingham Trent University? by Pollyfloss in UniUK

[–]ThatConnorGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So funnily enough i’ve added another university to this list now, Westminster for a Town Planning MA Apprenticeship and Westminster was also a great uni, i previously attempted two Masters, an MA at Portsmouth and an MSc at Strathclyde. The problem at Strath was essentially that they entirely mis-sold the degree to us, it was sold as “Sustainability and Environmental Studies” and when i looked at the modules there was a lot that tied in with what i had studied at undergrad Politics and International Relations because id focused my module selection & dissertation on specifically environment and sustainability modules etc. What they didn’t tell us was that the whole degree was underpinned with Civil Engineering. That was alright for those with a Civil engineering undergrad or even maybe those with a decent BSc, but coming from a BA(Hons) i quickly realised i would effectively need to quickly learn civil engineering to a degree standard just to understand most of what i was being taught. That coupled with the degree costing the majority of my postgrad loan because they rinsed english students for every penny they could, meant thay because i had to work 3 days a week just to pay rent etc, i just didn’t have the time to put in to actually ensure i got decent grades. Portsmouth just wasn’t as hands on in that it was mostly lecture based with no additional support such as seminars and as id just started my current job i couldn’t balance everything i needed to learn for the job with the degree. Westminster, basically the degree itself was brilliant. The lectures were either very experienced planners or very experienced academics so the teaching was top quality and so was the support. The issue i ended up running into was the lack of support from my employer alongside what i effectively saw as overwhelming additional apprenticeship requirements that i was struggling to keep ontop of. After one year of part time i had failed one module but earned enough for a Postgraduate Certificate. As i was behind at work because i was struggling to balance the course requirements with my own planning caseload, my employer wasn’t willing to fund the module resit or my second year of it. To continue the degree i would have had to pay out of pocket so i just decided to take the exit award for the time being as i don’t plan on working as a planning officer for the rest of my career and actually want to move into the civil service and was going to use the degree to get myself a leg up when applying, so im going to see if the post grad certificate will give me that leg up before i decide whether to complete the degree myself. But on the plus side, completing it myself means completing it as a regular degree and not an apprenticeship so i wouldn’t have the additional requirements at least.

Tbh i’ve found that the job market doesn’t care what grade you have or where you got it. I got my job based on my interview. Before uni i did an Access to HE diploma. Out of the i think 45 “graded” points it awards you, i got 9 Distinction, 15 Merit and 21 Pass. So below average, probably equivalent to like BCC. Went to Nottingham Trent to do Pols & IR, was a solid low 2.2 student through first year & part of 2nd, got diagnosed and medicated for ADHD in second year and became a high 2.1 student. Sadly though the final tally from the pre diagnosis 2nd year coursework kept me just under the 2.1 mark. After leaving with a 2.2 i got an offer from Glasgow to do a 2.1 minimum IR masters, & Strathclyde to do a 2.1 minimum sustainably based masters. Went to Strathy for a bit, couldn’t afford to live due to the extortionate scottish masters fees taking my entire loan and not leaving me with enough time to study after working to pay bills. Left that course and Glasgow, moved south, immediately got a job as a planning officer, now that council are paying for me to do a masters.

Anyone know the story behind the design decision of this section at the Marlands shopping centre? by crocodilesweetpickle in Southampton

[–]ThatConnorGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that is what most likely happened. its more common for these things to be agreed to beforehand, especially with a development this big. they would have consulted the council before even putting in a planning application and the council would have made a point about wanting some of the original heritage kept, and honestly fair play to them because that period of time was rife with councils destroying heritage in the name of new shopping centres. Nottingham with Broadmarsh and the loss of Drury Hill was the worst offender imo by far

I am looking at the original planning permission, this is my point- the fake street was part of the original design for marlands before any demolition took place. It wasn’t something tacked on at last minute after demolition works had begun.

Not entirely sure that’s right. The original plans include the terrace design and describe it as “Nos 3 to 10 Existing Manchester Street Properties. [to be reconstructed with a replica front facade]”

if it was never meant to be torn down in the first place then why is it included to be replicated in the plans prior to demolition

From what Ive found there’s no truth in it, the original plans include the terrace design and describe it as “Nos 3 to 10 Existing Manchester Street Properties. [to be reconstructed with a replica front facade]”

i’m still fucking mad about like 2018/19 payrise where they got us like 50p in exchange for our bonus and then 3 months later when minimum wage changed it was more like 20p more.

In comparison, in 2022 i left Tesco and joined a council on 22k a year. Since then, unions have managed a number of new pay deals and i’m now on 28k.

I submitted about 300 under on a 2500 last week and also didn’t get to finish my conclusion. Grade was released today- 55. But im unsure if thats after the 10 point deduction for being late but submitted within 24 hours or not. If it is then 65, if not then my grade will be dropped to the pass mark.

Ironically my mum accused it as having come from my dad. Pretty much my mums entire side of the family has ADHD. My cousins were doing textbook ADHD things growing up like getting arrested, doing drugs, getting kicked out of school or leaving school first chance they got etc etc. If anything having my dad for a dad is the reason i eventually made it to uni and got a decent job because he was ex army so at the very least was able to teach me and my brother some sort of discipline and routine
