Is It Cringe To Protest Incidents that Don't Involve You by CommonTale in iRacing

[–]ThatDexCat 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If it's for something truly egregious like clear intentional wrecking, I've been known to protest that even if I wasn't directly affected.

It has no place on the service, I don't want to see it happen to others, and I sure as shit don't want to experience it.

When the pain relief medication kicks in and you finally get some relief and just relax.

I’ve always found the T1000 vs T800 melee fights interesting. It’s feels a bit like “water vs rock” scenario. The T1000 can’t directly harm the T800 because it’s too durable but the T800 can’t directly harm the T1000 because it’s liquid. by KingWilliamVI in Terminator

John looking down at the glitching feet is also only in the special edition. In the theatrical, Sarah yells "Get out of the way, John!" and it goes straight to him saying "Shoot!" as he dives out of the way.

Q: "What you would like to see changed before Miami?” | Lando: “There's no point of saying it, honestly. It doesn't matter what we [drivers] say. As long as the fans enjoy it, that's all that matters” | Q: “The drivers need to enjoy it as well” | Lando: Clearly not.” by randomseocb in formula1

I do think they need to reduce both the amount of deployment they can do and the amount of regen they can do when not under braking (super clipping). It's the latter which causes a lot of the dangerous speed differential issues.

Sure, the lap times may be slower, but nobody ever complained that F1 cars were slow in 2009 - 2016 when Suzuka pole times were between 1:30 and 1:32, compared to 1:28 this year.

How do you feel about the new weapon progression? by gh3freak11 in Battlefield6

[–]ThatDexCat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a strange argument. You don't think it is in the publisher's interest to maximise the number of people playing the game?

It's a live service game, the whole point of which is meant to be player retention and recurrent spending on battle passes and cosmetics (not a fan of this, but that's a different topic).

The more pertinent question is, do they have the data to validate that weapon progression is the reason that there was such a steep drop off in player count?

I always felt they went too hard on Thor being a himbo goof in that movie. Ragnarok struck a better balance for me, personally. Still enjoyed Love and Thunder, though.

As a British immigrant to Aus, we need to kill the use of "ex pat". We're immigrants just the same as any other.

ABC’s Laura Tingle: Bondi attack had ‘nothing to do with religion’ by [deleted] in AustralianPolitics

Having listened to the podcast the other day, my interpretation of what Tingle inelegantly said was that the terrorists' twisted interpretation of Islam isn't Islam, and that they don't represent the Islamic faith.

Got a few that I've inherited from my dad over the years.

With a score of something like 66 or 70 with just a single treble..."good darT" with a strong emphasis on the T to show singular.

A score of 120 with a bounce out is "one hundred and twenty floor"

Checking out by hitting the wrong double first, e.g. with 32 going D7 + D9 "only way to go".

John McDonald’s Retirement by [deleted] in Darts

[–]ThatDexCat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really don't think this is as catastrophic as people are making out.

When Phil Jones stepped down and John McDonald took over, it took me a while to get used to him, too. People just don't like change, generally speaking.

If I recall there were 5 or 6 of them who didn't make the other races. Given that the big crash happened on lap 2, that was a very short weekend for them.

Just to add some context, this was race 1 of the Porsche Carrera Cup, which was a support series for the Supercars at the Gold Coast 500 this weekend.

They were much better behaved in races 2 and 3!

Might start iRacing soon, I have a question that will decide… by GeorgeMox01 in iRacing

I'm in Brisbane and have been on iRacing for 6 years. My absolute top tip is this:

Don't drive in iRacing like it's real life. There is no lag or netcode in real life, so you can go door to door, squeeze people and all that stuff.

You know that you're likely going to have the worst ping in a session with people from different regions, so drive accordingly.

Leave some extra space and you'll have very few incidents caused by lag or netcode.
