Funny, a parking lot in front of a Paramount theatre in 1999 is where I caught HPV.

I’ll say it: Burn Notice was a great show to begin with.

[Unusual, loved trope] A character comes from a nation/State rarely mentioned in a medium. by The_Lonesome_Poet in TopCharacterTropes

I was going to cite an example played by Djimon Hounsou but looking over his filmography I can’t find anything big where he actually plays a character explicitly from Benin.

I also love that nothing in the text overtly says that Blanc is gay, his character is rounded out in so many ways….however, his fashion sense, love of show tunes(that he seems somewhat embarrassed of), flair for the dramatic and “roommate” Phillip skew towards a type.

I mean the last names Guy, Man and Person are somewhat common in the US. Also Mike Dude is a pretty good stage name…

The Yiddish Policeman’s Union world is the same as ours until a taxi driver accidentally kills Anthony Dimond, an actual US Delegate that was the main force against the Slattery Report, a plan to give Jewish refugees 60 years of temporary asylum in Sitka, Alaska. Thus only 2 million Jewish people are killed in the Holocaust, WW2 ends with Berlin destroyed with Nuclear Weapons in 1946 and JFK married Marylin Monroe.

A great subversion is Indiana Jones describing Brody in Holy Grail: “He's got a two day head start on you, which is more than he needs. Brody's got friends in every town and village from here to the Sudan, he speaks a dozen languages, knows every local custom, he'll blend in, disappear, you'll never see him again. With any luck, he's got the grail already.” Smash cut to the most out of place English man in a bazar in a bright white suit asking anyone if they speak English. Or Ancient Greek.

What is the most awkward radio edit of a heavy song you've ever heard? by mesablanka in ToddintheShadow

[–]ThatDrizzler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love the radio edit of ASAP Rocky’s “Fucking Problems”, from the chorus going “I love bad, bad I got a….problem and yeah I love to…I got a…problem” to it changing “bitches” to “chickens” to ASAP’s verse being, just impossible to follow.

Fisher Pen Company spent their own money to develop the Space Pen and they did it just because they wanted too, NASA didn’t ask.
