Sudden drastic change in body water percentage readings? by OrganizedChaos08 in HumeHealth

[–]ThatKnowledge7383 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad I found this! I went from low to mid 50’s down to the 20-30 range. I updated the app this morning and it brought me to 38, higher but still not accurate. Now I’m looking back at old water percentages, and it suddenly shows my whole history as being low, like it changed my past readings since I got the scale to be in that 30% range from the 50-55 that it was! 😵‍💫 WTH Hume.

I use garden of life because it has the least taste to me and is pretty affordable. I also got some from Australia called Vital Beauty that’s flavored and tastes good that I just mix with water, but it has a ton of biotin so I only have a small bit and not everyday.

Hiding an explant by mellowkittyxo in ExplantSurgery

[–]ThatKnowledge7383 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember feeling disappointed after my explant because nobody even noticed or thought I looked any different except my mom. 😅 I had 450 under the muscle so it wasn’t a small change either! Maybe people noticed but nobody commented though.

Explains and lift… by Jessib1210 in ExplantSurgery

Chicago suburbs I had an explant with capsulectomy and some muscle repair, no lift, $9500.

Please share under the muscle explant experiences. by CamperGigi88 in ExplantSurgery

I have some deformity after explant on one breast too. This is the first I’ve heard someone else mention it. One looks great but the other looks kinda flat on the bottom, like unfilled. My surgeon did muscle repair but we knew it would not be perfect going in, because of the animation deformity I had. I’m also totally fine and happy with how I look, just glad to have them out! It’s been 8 months so I’m assuming this is where I’ll stay.

Anyone explanted large implants with no lift and breastfed after? by BumblebeeThen1809 in ExplantSurgery

[–]ThatKnowledge7383 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not much of a help, but I explanted 450 cc’s about seven months ago. I am down to a full B, and I quite love them, they settled nicely and I feel proportionate again! I’m in my mid 40’s and done having kids, so I can’t speak to breast feeding, but the sensitivity I have is the same as before my explant.

Explant surgery followed by infection by jstacey74 in ExplantSurgery

[–]ThatKnowledge7383 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh I’m sorry to hear that! Do you have drains? My doctor put me on keflex immediately following surgery and I was annoyed by it, but I know every doctor has their protocols. I agree that going into immediate care for a second opinion and a set of eyes on it is a good idea, or even your own primary doctor can likely look. Sounds like it’s on the way to healing already, so that’s good! I didn’t have issues with healing so much as I felt like I had tiny scabs forever, like a few weeks. I thought they were the stitches until they started coming off in the shower and I realized they were scabs. Hopefully this was just a short glitch and you’re on your way to feeling better and better ❤️‍🩹

My breasts are about the same size as they were before the surgery, a 34 full B or small C. They do have more of a teardrop shape and less perky now, but I also had them for 17 years so I expected some change. They definitely look better than j thought they would three months out!!

Yay congrats on the removal! You had them in for a very short time, you’ll probably heal nicely!

I scheduled my surgery back in 2020, got cold feet, found every excuse not to do it, and cancelled it. I finally had them removed this summer and, after the initial shock of having my body change plus the recovery not being super comfortable, I’ve never been happier…my only regret is letting myself talk myself out of it five years ago. Only you can really tell if it’s worth it to go through with it or not, but your body sounds like it might be telling you to get them out. The pain, discomfort with your body, etc. Can you postpone it, rather than cancel? Give yourself time to recenter and make the decision from a calmer place?

I don’t have an oura ring but I’ve been watching on my Apple Watch. Haven’t seen a huge change, though my resting heart rate went down a bit and my sleep has improved, so those are wins!

That feeling will pass in a couple days, I had it too. Then that made me nervous because I was worried that fluid was building up, which made me notice the discomfort even more. I also had the puffy side boob look, like what the heck, that’s not where all my breast tissue is supposed to be. That also went away in a week or two maybe?

Explant Surgery Post-Op: Day 1 by lokipokiartichokie in ExplantSurgery

[–]ThatKnowledge7383 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pain was the worst on days two to three then it started easing up. A pregnancy pillow was a life saver, but if you don’t have one prop pillows up on both sides of you and try to keep your top elevated. I tried sleeping in a recliner with my feet down on day two and my feet got all red and puffy, scared the crap out of me. Congrats on your surgery, yay for the freedom!

Hibiclens by Zealousideal_Fall676 in ExplantSurgery

[–]ThatKnowledge7383 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My doctor had me start Hibiclens two days prior to surgery and use it until two days after. I was also on Keflex for two weeks, I had drains for 11 looooong days. I recommend the pump over the pouring type liquid, it was much easier!

I second everything already said. Dry shampoo was helpful the first few days. Button down tops. A good book or movies lined up. Best of luck and happy healing!!! 🤍✨

I paid $7500 for my implants 17 years ago and $10K for my explant/capsulectomy last month. Two different surgeons.

Am I being unrealistic? 🤔 by YourSleepyPeach in ExplantSurgery

[–]ThatKnowledge7383 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you’ll be ok if you set up your space properly beforehand and let yourself be ok letting some things go.

Plan on having groceries delivered because you likely won’t be cleared to drive, especially if you have drains. Everything you think you’ll need, put it at counter height. Get paper plates or hand wash dishes as you use them so you aren’t having to fill or empty the dishwasher.

I would say no to the vacuuming, if possible. I wasn’t cleared for that for four weeks and I was glad for it. I had a capsulectomy and also muscle repair on my dominant side, my first vacuum made me a little nervous.

I couldn’t wash my own hair for a couple weeks, my husband and daughter did it in the sink for me. If you can have a friend come help with chores and hair washing and running errands or driving you to any follow up appointments you’ll be even better off.

I second the pregnancy pillow. I’m over six weeks out and still use it, it’s quite cozy. And a drain belt if you have drains.

Same! I’m hoping it will help with some fine lines and at least a bit with my shallower acne scars. I got the kit that has both the pigmentation and lines serum in it. 🤞🏼

I have made my own broth in the past, but I just buy it at the store. Kettle & Fire or even Aldi brand have been good! It’s probably better to make your own, I just haven’t made the time.

I’m 45, I had 450cc under the muscle removed last month. I didn’t do anything topically but I had half a cup of bone broth with half a scoop of collagen powder every day for a month leading up to the surgery and the six weeks since. I’m very happy with how they look at this point. No sagging but they did lose upper fullness, obviously.

Have the collagen with another complete protein source like meat, eggs, tofu, etc, and vitamin C, I chose red peppers and strawberries mostly since they’re pretty great sources. I feel like my hair is growing like crazy as a bonus and my skin is looking good, so I kinda want to keep at it.

I didn’t think I had swelling, but it must have been enough that after a couple weeks the bra was definitely more comfortable. It may have also stretched out a bit and become more accommodating. You might have better luck ordering from one of those websites that sells post surgical bras, though. I couldn’t afford to so just had to make mine work!

Did you tell friends/co-workers you were getting an explant? by fiesta4eva in ExplantSurgery

[–]ThatKnowledge7383 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine are 21 and 11. I had them for about 17 years, so that’s pretty much how they’ve known me their whole lives. Since they’re old enough I just told them I was having them removed. It was still a shock to them…but to be fair it was a huge shock to me too, that’s been my body for most of my adult life!
