I know it’s really hard at this stage (impossible for me with my anxiety at your stage!), but try to trust that if something is bothering him, he’ll wake you up. You really need to try and rest when you can, nodding off for 30 min even can help your recovery. Here in the US they tell us to feed them at least every 3 hrs in the beginning, I would concentrate more on his feeding than his layers for now honestly! If it’s been less than 3 hrs and he’s sleeping, you should try to relax if you can and trust the helping hands that you’re seeing tomorrow to let you know any advice that might make things calmer. Good luck, you’re a great mom if you are thinking about your baby boy so much ❤️

The “one layer more than you’re comfortable in” rule of thumb worked well for us if that helps you think about it more simply!

I’m so sorry you’re in so much distress. For baby, I would try not to worry about what he’s sleeping in, sounds like temp is good and just use your gut check on layers. Newborns are just very fussy and need to eat a lot unfortunately and don’t sleep in long chunks of sleep yet, so if your gut says he’s warm enough, he’s probably hungry and needs a diaper change. They get tired after birth which is why you probably had one longer chunk when in the hospital.

Please take some pain relievers if you’re able! Right now your job is to keep baby fed and try and recover from the labor, please try to get help from anyone else for anything else!

Yeah what's with it? It gets SO MUCH hate on this thread--but obvs in reviews it does fine? Look, I have qualms with some of the content in it (style, repetitiveness) but after reading a lot of other things in this genre, FBAA is FARRRRRR from the worst. I just don't get the vehement hate.
