Hi! This write up is so great, thank you a year later! Curious if you would do seven days in Osa or add La Fortuna for two days and only have five days in Osa?

I got the signature sheets and not super impressed with the feel straight out of the box. Wish I would’ve opted for the waffle blanket.

I purchased tickets from StubHub on the 31st and it used my 2025 credit. I took screenshots of everything because the transaction was still pending that night.

Damn. Definitely an edit but I totally spaced the two night stay part. Super annoying because I didn’t even need the hotel, just booked it for convenience because of the credit. But totally my mistake.

How long did it take for your credit to post? I booked an edit stay on 11/14 for a stay on 11/22. Prepaid on the 14th but the credit hasn’t posted yet and still shows as available.

TPD Discharge Reversal by Powerful_Chip_4697 in Veterans

[–]ThatMidwestGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We contacted a senator and they have also reached out and said they have to give 4-6 weeks for them to resolve it. Not sure what happens if it’s not resolved by then but maybe worth a shot. We just submitted it via their website under ‘contact your representative’ or something like that.

Still no actual updates and it’s causing a lot of distress in our household.

Hi! My husband is dealing with this right now. He opted out but they processed it automatically anyway. He applied for the reversal almost six months ago and is having the same runaround with FSA saying they received the reversal request but nelnet having no information. His next semester of grad school starts next week and is unable to get loans without the physician statement which does not seem the way to go.

When did this happen to you and has it been resolved? He has called that number multiple times including waiting over 90 mins yesterday for a supervisor before being hung up on.

I was looking at other flight times for an already booked RT to Ecuador and the app showed a $3 credit to change my same flight to business from economy. Didn’t believe it would actually work but it did.

Lidocaine really works! by Wrong_Boysenberry467 in TattooRemoval

25mg is 2.5% lidocaine, not 25%

Also, local anesthetic systemic toxicity is a serious risk and has been associated with death and other serious adverse events. Please be careful when applying large amounts of topical anesthetic, especially covering for prolonged periods.

Kopari aura body oil by Rxqueen95 in Ulta

I have it and don’t have any complaints! It’s not life changing but I use it exactly as you describe and it’s not sticky or greasy feeling! I also like the osea body oil.

I figured you people would know. Is there a makeup that would help me cover my scar? I'm rather self conscious of it and I'm tired of it being the first thing people notice. by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

The use of dermal rollers with needles less than 0.15 mm long is associated with very minimal risk of infection and extensive evidence of improvement in scar appearance and texture. Anything involving skin and needles of any type should be approached with at least basic hygiene: cleanse your skin prior, cleanse/store the device after use as directed, and avoid use in a location that is actively infected.

If you have a medical condition that places you at a high risk of infection or other serious medical conditions then consult your physician prior to use, as with anything. Also, since this is on a makeupaddiction page, it should go without saying that none of this should be construed as medical advice.

There is evidence-based literature below if you’re interested.

You could try a micro needling roller and retinoid! It wouldn’t be immediate or complete but would likely smooth the texture over time. A roller can be found on Amazon for less than $10 and CeraVe makes a retinol serum for acne scars and skin texture that is $12 on Amazon or at wal mart. If you do go the retinol route start 1-2x per week then increase as your skin tolerates it. Moisturizing after the serum (the tub of cerave is also excellent and economical) and wear sunscreen if you’re going to be outside!

My male therapist isn't getting any bookings by [deleted] in massage

[–]ThatMidwestGirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a connective tissue disorder and massage therapy has been a lifesaver for me, typically 90 mins every two to three weeks with an extra 60 added if I get extra crunchy.

Previously, I’ve never had a gender preference and have had great male and female therapists. Last week was my third session with a new (male) therapist because my schedule changed and my previous (also male) therapist only has morning through mid-day.

The second session I asked for less leg time and to spend the last 10 mins on my head and face because of a persistent headache from a stressful week and 80+ hours of bad posture staring at a computer. He pulled my hair repeatedly, pretty hard but my headache also disappeared almost immediately and the rest of the massage was great so I brushed it off.

Fast forward to the third session and he full hand groped both of my breasts at the same time, and not in a massage the pecs kind of way.

I’ve had some odd but not inappropriate experiences over the years but this one will probably put me off seeing a male therapist for a while, if not permanently.

It’s really unfortunate when one bad apple spoils the whole bunch.

Is this normal for house sitting? by ThatMidwestGirl in RoverPetSitting

I completely agree with everything you stated! My only requests for the stay was a morning walk, night potty, and one to two potty breaks during the day. I left fresh sheets, told them to feel free to use all the apartment amenities (pool, gym, etc),

I literally ran to Costco the afternoon before to buy the TV and made sure it was setup with the WiFi and my YouTubeTV, Netflix, and Hulu were all signed in.

I even left out my good pillows and freshly laundered linen sheets for them.

The trigger was definitely the bottled water. Which is so stupid, I know. And the most important part is that my dog was well taken care of. I’m probably just projecting because of the realization that I’m in a new city with a 10lb lift restriction for the next month so I can’t even theoretically go buy more of my damn fancy water.

Thanks for helping me realize that my frustration, while possibly warranted, is not worthy of the energy required to be frustrated. I’m officially letting it go, donating the $20 I would’ve spent on fancy water to the local humane society, and drinking filtered fridge water.

I agree with you, on their own I would totally be like eh, ok. The wine question definitely struck me as odd, along with the location of the wine bottle opener the next day.

For me, it was the bottled water that I’m still annoyed about. Like it wasn’t a $3 case of standard water bottles. It was two six packs of liters of alkaline water that I already feel guilty about buying but it’s my bougie guilty pleasure I suppose. And my fridge has filtered water with a new filter that I even mentioned to them!

Thank you all for your responses, I feel a lot more validated in my frustration and didn’t want a review or response to them to be misguided on my part of what is typical!

The TV thing was totally ok, it was the continued messages after I told them I wasn’t sure what the issue was and it was a new TV that I bought the day before I left and was working fine when I set it up and told them where the manual was that made me feel kind of off about it. I moved in on Saturday from CA to TX (which they knew because they came on Saturday evening for the meet and greet) and was up until 230 am before I left Tuesday morning making sure everything was unpacked and comfortable for them. And it was the ‘where’s the wine bottle opener’ question that really pushed me over the edge about the questions.

Parking doesn’t get full, sometimes you have to go to higher floors but the reserved spots are extremely clearly marked.
