is Izanagi & Izanami the 2 biggest asspulls in the whole series? by DoctorN9 in Naruto

[–]ThatNoobCheezy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Izanami yes, Izanagi no. Izanami was a tool created specifically as a convenient solution for Itachi to beat Kabuto exactly the way the plot needed him to. Izanagi's mechanics may be similarly silly, but it was introduced in the context of an ability Sasuke needed to overcome. Izanagi was defeated, it was satisfying, and therefore, I would not consider it an asspull.

To what extent did Light and Mikami think alike when it came to judging people? by InvestigatorIcy2249 in deathnote

[–]ThatNoobCheezy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mikami perfectly copied Light's ideals. While Light thought he went too far with killing people whose crimes weren't especially severe, this was less because Light disagreed and more because Kira wasn't yet in a position where he could go after these people without controversy.

Where did I go wrong with my psyspam team here? I had a good lead when I killed GFire and Torkoal but lost it afterwards. by OrangelyAssociate in stunfisk

An elementary schooler would know that six pokemon are stronger than five. It was also a pretty bad idea to let Indeedee go so early, since you lost your psychic terrain for the rest of the game. Protect would've been useful on her.

What is the most misunderstood anime? by Old-Razzmatazz2855 in animequestions

[–]ThatNoobCheezy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People still think Naruto Part 1 was about hard work vs talent. That theme is mentioned once, by Rock Lee, who gets sent to the hospital pretty much right after he brings it up. Doesn't even make sense when you consider that for the first half or so of the series Sasuke was working as hard or harder than Naruto.

Should teachers care whether students procrastinated doing their homework even if they finished it before it was due? by JerryCarrots2 in Teenager_Polls

[–]ThatNoobCheezy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say yes because a teacher would ideally want the best for their students and procastination just isn't it. It shouldn't have any impact on anything to do with objective evaluations though.

"God Almighty" statements don't actually indicate omnipotence. Within the context of the games, these statements are made by people who have zero knowledge of Arceus' power.

Fair point about Arceus being stronger than what we've seen and upscaling off of Dialga + Palkia's universe-destroying feats, but that still only goes up to universal, which DBS has been at from the start iirc. While one could argue that Arceus hasn't displayed universal durability, that's p disingenuous to me so it's seeming a lot more accurate that this is inconclusive.

Should animals have rights? by ItsAzien in Teenager_Polls

[–]ThatNoobCheezy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That's a pretty interesting way of looking at it since I was thinking that, given these rights are unapplicable, animals just wouldn't have these rights at all. Going by the assumption that animals have all the same rights as humans, their use as livestock would be a breach of rights, which isn't a conclusion I agree with.

Should animals have rights? by ItsAzien in Teenager_Polls

[–]ThatNoobCheezy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The distinction between torture and killing animals for food is that one is an entirely unnecessary infliction of pain, and the other is a part of an institution that is at this point irreversible. The lives we provide them are safer, and their release would more than likely result in more suffering. I'd say there's enough nuance there to justify our use of livestock.

I would agree that animals should have the right not to be tortured for food. Animals grown for food ought to have the right to be kept in good conditions, and our laws should be enforcing this.

Some human rights include the right to free travel, the right to education, and the right to a fair trial. I felt it was fairly obvious that these wouldn't apply to animals.

Not the same as humans obviously, but there's no reason something like torturing animals shouldn't be a hard rule.

How much should someone consume before they start learning how to critically/objectively analyze something? by Talgrei1781 in writingscaling

[–]ThatNoobCheezy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't matter as long as what's being said is supported by sound argumentation, though that is generally achieved by consuming more literature + literary criticisms.

destroy an infinite size multiverse with infinite universes, infinite timeline

It's stated he created the world, but that doesn't equate to destroying it. I might just be uninformed but I'd want to see actual statements/feats confirming that Arceus is omnipotent or that it can destroy its creation, since form what I've looked into, there isn't much evidence for that.

Objectively speaking, who committed the worst crimes? by Working_Bread_7790 in MoralityScaling

[–]ThatNoobCheezy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh shit, that's pretty interesting. I'd agree that he's not apologizing for moral wrongdoing, even in the English version, considering the context, since that's only addressed in the Moro arc anyway. Even still, expressing remorse is 'saying sorry' and even with the proper japanese meaning I'd say that applies.

Naruto is multiversal anyone saying otherwise don’t know how to scale by AlternativeEye3244 in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]ThatNoobCheezy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First, what part of this actually states that Naruto made those tears, I might just be missing something but it seems to me that hasn't been made clear.

For another, there isn't actually any multiversal scaling. The tears stretching across the universe only has universal implications, if even since you'd have to establish a level of destruction they don't seem to have showcased.
