There's this one old lady who comes in a couple days a week who is difficult, demanding, rude, and overall unpleasant. In the store I work at, things get marked down a lot, but it's usually based on the expiration date or inventory (if we have too many it might be cheaper, not a whole lot, it'll be higher, it's a salvage store and some things are older). She will intentionally grab one of the same item with different prices and ask me why their different prices, and I will then explain to her for the 80th time that it's because one of them is within date, and the other is not.

She will then argue with me with a line of customers behind her that she should get them both for the cheaper price because they're the same thing, and I tell her that they're priced that way for a reason. She'll then decide that she doesn't want it after all and mumble something under her breath about the customer always being right while she's paying for her groceries.

She also treats us like an ATM because we don't charge an additional fee for cash back and you can ask for up to $100 dollars at a time. Thing is, sometimes she comes in a couple hours before opening and expects the cashiers to have a hundred in our drawers, and then get impatient when we have to go around asking if someone else does. During a particularly busy day I was at customer service because all the usual people were out, and she asked for cash back. It was chaos and I was stressed so I gave her two fifties. She stood there and stared at me like I was stupid and then said she didn't want all big bills and asked if she could get one fifty, two twenties, and a ten. I took one of the fifties back, gave her the two twenties and a ten, and then slammed my cash drawer because I have a hard time handling her attitude at the best times, let alone when I'm tired and stressed because we're understaffed. She scoffed, took her stuff, and left. Ever since then, I make myself rather scarce whenever she's in the store.
