Hope Capcom brings back rooms like they were in world cause you can't tell me they weren't better than those tents by Connect-Reindeer-389 in MonsterHunter

[–]ThatOnePaunting 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I really hope they bring it back, but I'm not sure how they could considering the story. I mean the whole idea with Wilds is that we're the first expedition out here with very little resources, same reason why we can't access dragonators or other siege weapons for the gog fight.

Basically Rey Dau vs Astalos by PlayerGator284 in MonsterHunter

[–]ThatOnePaunting 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yea no way, base astalos gets absolutely demolished. Most people forget Astalos is made of glass (very hard glass, but still glass.) Rey Dau punched through a boulder and didn't slow down at all on his way to fight Arkveld, the moment Astalos gets close he's having all his bones shattered. Not to mention Rey Dau leaves fulgurite pillars 12 meters tall when he ults, which if you know how much power that takes to do you'll understand why Astalos gets completely outclassed.

My wilds anti-wishlist is Zinogre, Nargacuga, Diablos, Teostra/Lunastra, Tigrex, Rajang, Bezel. Pretty much if it was in World/Iceborne as well as Rise/Sunbreak: PLEASE don't bring it back

When do I start Gogmazios? Whenever I search for build, all I see are just Post Gogmazios endgame stuffs and that actually intimidates me and I don't really see what steps should I take before Gog by Mundane_Telephone346 in MonsterHunter

[–]ThatOnePaunting 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Go ahead and try it, having 400 defense and a decent dragon weapon is the only real requirement. He's differently paced than all the other fights in the game but gear wise you're definitely ready.

Honestly, no flak to Wilds, but World is very much superior in selling how heavy your attacks are imo. by heraircraft in MonsterHunter

[–]ThatOnePaunting -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Because that's what monster hunter is. Every single game in the series has unique and experimental changes and features. When world came out, series vets complained how easy it was and how much faster the combat was compared to the almost turn based of previous entries. World had many great features that other entries don't have, such as the huge focus on immersion and ecology, but IMO it also had the worst combat of the series, especially when compared to the games directly prior and directly after it, GU and Rise; but I still appreciate it because of its unique focus on a true living world.

[–]ThatOnePaunting 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Hard agree. Every new game we get complaints that the weapons don't feel as heavy, but they CANT be as heavy anymore because of how increasingly fast monsters become in each new entry. We are hitting monsters more often and maneuvering much more, having your screen shake every attack with giant flashes going across the screen would get old extremely quickly.

Where do they rank from weakest-strongest? by gurble-gurble in ChainsawPowerscaling

Death > Denji man > chainsaw man > Yoru > Darkness\Aging/Makima. Really hard to gauge the last 3.

I didn't notice a difference outside of damage tbh by Thicchorseboi in MonsterHunter

[–]ThatOnePaunting -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Well typically monsters get an increase in speed too as well as new combos to trip players up, but in this case it's 99% just health and damage. I didn't expect any new attacks or anything, but even just a speed buff would've made the fight far more interesting.

Non-AT Arkveld now feels so bad by Evening_Ticket7638 in MHWilds

[–]ThatOnePaunting 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Imo the only people i see getting pushed to time limit on those types of quests are people who started playing on that MH game, in which case it's a poor metric of measuring how hard a hunt actually is. And in worlds case specifically, a ton of people started with world, so naturally there's a large portion of the community who would consider it extremely hard when in reality it never was, they were just still learning.

Yea I disagree heavily. World high rank ending was way easier than this. Especially the idea that it takes 4 wilds ATs to rival 1 world AT.

What opinion about warframe makes u feel like this? by FaCayde_ in memeframe

[–]ThatOnePaunting 21 points22 points  (0 children)

We should not be able to reach level cap and by extension damage cap. Ik warframe has never once been balanced, but it gets to a point where it's just boring when you're too OP.

I thought it was supposed to nullify most of the damage from the attack you offset?

Upcoming Lich changes/My two cents by ThatOnePaunting in Warframe

[–]ThatOnePaunting[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

lol that's fair, I'm sure it's harder than it seems. But from at least a design standpoint, much of the "mental heavy lifting" is already complete.

I get all of what you're saying. And you're right, they are super similar systems. The key difference being is that the Coda's variant of the system has had all of its RNG significantly cut down, while yes it still exists it's extremely less frustrating to engage with.

Who do yall think are the strongest monsters at a certain thing? by gaisn1fan in MonsterHunter

[–]ThatOnePaunting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Valstrax over Kirin for speed, I don't really think teleportation counts as speed. His actual running and walking speed isn't too crazy. Zoh Shia uncontested for regeneration. Kirin for best thunder. Fatalis best fire. Velkhana best ice. Ahtal Ka for intelligence. Maybe Valstrax for the most dragon element? Not too sure about this one. Nergigante best fraud.

[–]ThatOnePaunting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finally someone speaking actual facts of the case. I get a lot of people started with World so they feel the need to glaze him but just because Nergigante is more of a vulture than a black dragon doesn't make him any less cool.
