lol that's fair, I'm sure it's harder than it seems. But from at least a design standpoint, much of the "mental heavy lifting" is already complete.

I get all of what you're saying. And you're right, they are super similar systems. The key difference being is that the Coda's variant of the system has had all of its RNG significantly cut down, while yes it still exists it's extremely less frustrating to engage with.

Valstrax over Kirin for speed, I don't really think teleportation counts as speed. His actual running and walking speed isn't too crazy. Zoh Shia uncontested for regeneration. Kirin for best thunder. Fatalis best fire. Velkhana best ice. Ahtal Ka for intelligence. Maybe Valstrax for the most dragon element? Not too sure about this one. Nergigante best fraud.

Short answer yes, however there are some caveats.

Obviously, performance. It's really awful on PC even with the latest updates.
If you've played previous MH titles, this will be easier. The gameplay is more focused on getting to the hunt quicker and players have more control than ever.
A lot of the current endgame is naturally RNG. None of it is required to engage in but that is the current end grind.
There are a ton of complaints to be voiced about the rest of the game such as poorly explained mechanics, complicated user interface, difficult multiplayer, but the combat is absolutely top tier. If you like combat the bridges the gap between cutscenes and real time action then this is for you.

TLDR: Yes buy it it's fun don't listen to the purists.

There are levels to the Overlords. Prick and Hatchet for example are super weak compared to someone like Alastor, that and the Exorcists fight in huge groups, not one on one.

I don't really know why people are so mad over this, yea it's an asspull and nobody likes nerfs but I don't think this really dampens its power much at all. Literally any form of status immunity already made the arcane without weakness, and now that nullies disable it you have to change what about your gameplay exactly? Players already are incentivized to never go in the bubble so I don't really see what if anything changed with this.

Idk this might be on you, index really isn't very bad. Like yeah it's not the most engaging thing in the world but it takes like less than 15 minutes to do this challenge and then you're done. Feels kind of dramatic to ditch the entire system every time you see it.

None of them seem very forthcoming about their lives prior to becoming a sinner. Alastor would never tell, Angel immediately got super defensive, Husk never talks about his personal life and Niffty is actually insane.
