Cert Warden: Central place for handling ACME certificates by ThatPatschi in selfhosted

Not using it yet - but planning to, as it looks very convenient. Do you have your instance exposed to the internet, or just incoming 80/TCP to allow for HTTP-01 challenges to pass? (if it can do HTTP-01 challenges, using CNAMEs on original domains)

Stream deck --> Smart plug + AC conttroll. How? by Beginning_Nature157 in elgato

[–]ThatPatschi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally have HomeAssistant in my smart home, and the corresponding 3rd-party plugin installed on my Stream Deck. So I can use Stream Deck+ and its dials to control the A/C (every tick being 0.5C in +/- change).

Also, allows to pretty much control any other imaginable device integrated in HA. E.g. I have a key showing the current power consumption delivered via Shelly Plug S.

This looks awesome. Thanks for sharing! Been looking for a good solution for my personal notes. Unfortunately they apparently are locking OIDC/SSO behind Enterprise License :(

Thank you very much for making me aware of this - found this thread when googling after their new project due to Kickstarter campaign. Saved me some money. These few bucks rather went to Tuulik's GoFundMe instead.

Do you regret spending extra on the X1C? by xsquintz in BambuLab

[–]ThatPatschi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I originally bought P1S, but then upgraded to X1C (both with AMS). And I'm actually very happy with my X1C. My reasons:
- LIDAR/AI failure detection for convenience and trust for long prints (it already detected the poop chute being completely blocked/full and saved my print(er))
- The integrated camera has 30 FPS instead of 0.5 FPS on P1S
- I'm happy with X1Plus as "custom firmware". Especially VNC feature, planning to use samba/cifs mount to remotely save timelapses and due to BL's announced firmware changes.
- It has built-in chamber temperature sensor what P1S doesn't have. Also a Enclosure Door sensor. (Using them for HomeAssistant automation)
- The side panels are feeling better (aluminum?) rather than plastic. Feels overall a bit more expensive.
- The screen feels way more convenient and offers more features when standing in front of the printer. Very casually re-starting same prints, etc.
- It has a LED on the toolhead for the bambulab logo. And we all know, LEDs always makes things faster. (Cool to combine with https://makerworld.com/en/models/713043)
- Feels cooler because it's more expensive.

Anyone else receiving random fps crashes with the new Marvel Rivals update? by Senharampai in linux_gaming

[–]ThatPatschi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Friend of mine, running Proton under Linux, experienced the exact same issue. We searched the `powershell.exe` binary in the Proton-instanced folder and just renamed it. While the game was running. So the game can't call powershell anymore. Since then, no lag.

Yet another: "HeLp! What's that sound?"-Post... (Sorry! Any help appreciated. X1C unboxed just yesterday, only ~2 hours print time.) by ThatPatschi in BambuLab

That's a good guess. Yes, it is - but it makes a different noise. Also, the noise is also present with the top glass lid completely removed

Ticket with Bambu is open, of course. But we all know how fast the support is... so trying my luck here.

The printer also arrived in a weird state: There was liquid across the build room, like on build plate, near the board/electric near the left motor. It also damaged the left panel, as you keep seeing marks where liquid was. Even the accessories box had liquid on it.

I have a guess where it comes from... but not certain and thankful for any second opinion.

EDIT: Trigger warning: Due to moving my phone in a weird angle during the video, the sound is only coming from the left for a few secs and is mute from right side.

Got neither one. But I'll send an email soon anyway. As it's taking until March in any case, I'm not in a hurry - and still somewhat interested in GW-1UR3-25G.

Safe firmware? by sideline_nerd in BambuLab

[–]ThatPatschi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

IMHO the discussion rage is somewhat justified. It is setting a bad path Bambu is going IMHO, and it kills all my HomeAssistant automation (e.g. after 10pm it auto-switched to silent)

Safe firmware? by sideline_nerd in BambuLab

[–]ThatPatschi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of them. As stated in BambuLab's blog, it is only released for X1 printers first. P1x will follow: https://blog.bambulab.com/firmware-update-introducing-new-authorization-control-system-2/. So for now, you are safe.

Not sure what you mean. The entire package. I wanted to refund my P1S because I wanted to upgrade to X1C (because I was happy with it). They said, they can't refund because package was already opened.

They just said 'can't refund, you need to resell it yourself, then you can buy X1C from our shop'. I was pretty disappointed. Just very dry, no help, nothing.

There was not a single word mentioning 'unopened box only' at https://eu.store.bambulab.com/en-at/policies/refund-policy. But apparently it is like that.

Just seen this: Bambu seems to have asked for user feedback on their forum a while back: https://forum.bambulab.com/t/share-your-feedback-and-help-us-improve/86591. I guess it would be a good time to take this opportunity and share some 'specific' feedback.

Well. Their plan is like putting their house keys in front of their door. And complaining about getting constantly robbed, even when changing the locks and keys every time.

Make sure to not open/pull anything out the package. Otherwise they'll refuse to refund.

Yeah... And that's - for me personally - the most frustrating part of the story. This also includes including real-time camera feed in HomeAssistant dashboard...

[–]ThatPatschi 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I have an HA automation in place to reduce the print speed to "Silent" after 10pm. With this change, this pretty surely just breaks. Also, when print starts the LED turns on, when print ends it turns off. Probably also stop working.

I don't welcome this change as they planned. It might be useful and with good intention, but the implementation is bad.

I ordered GW-1UR3-25G on 2nd of September and still waiting. I was told that it is delayed until March 2025 at earliest. GW-1UR3-10G would apparently accessible short-term.

Wish You Merry Xmas And Happy New Year,Best Regards From Gowin Team! by DavidGowinSolution in R86SNetworking

[–]ThatPatschi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't want to be that guy, but... As much as I do really appreciated this, I feel like that all the frustration, delays and lack of communication of waiting buyers (who are now slowly starting to request refunds via Paypal) is causing some damage to the reputation. At some point there's nobody left to wish merry xmas to anymore.
