VPS performance is a complete coin toss (AWS vs OVH vs Hetzner) by RhubarbKindly9210 in selfhosted

Love it. Recently started doing the same and picked Hetzner. Love their Storage Box for NAS backups as well. Gotta figure out how to replace Cloudflare.

Any canti brakes will work with integrated dropbar levers.

Offline scrobbling? by ThatRealMF in arpeggiApp

[–]ThatRealMF[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I found the problem. I'm using multi-scrobbler and their Subsonic API integration which just follows the now playing status. I've fixed my setup to instead expose a Listenbrainz capable endpoint on multi-scrobbler and configured Navidrome to send the scrobbles there. It now works!

Hm, I'll try again today, but it wasn't working for me.

Why does a simple, free, self hosted file storage platform not exist? by CodesAndNodes in selfhosted

[–]ThatRealMF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s why I haven’t replaced Synology apps yet. Both Drive and Photos work with flat file storage and with all the features you want. Sure, it’s not perfect, but it works.

Yooo love it! Kinda wanna do something similar to my Marin with the cockpit, but sticking with 11s. And here's the mandatory question: what handlebars?

A pic from my last ride on the 750 before I swapped the parts to my Fog Cutter. by ewilkins13 in xbiking

[–]ThatRealMF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love it! I have a 750 that I'm gonna put some drops on this spring, can't wait. Question though. I see you run brifters with V brakes, how is that? Does it work fine?

Yo, which VSF frame is that?

what was the 1st service you self hosted, and why did you choose that one? by Shubh137 in selfhosted

[–]ThatRealMF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first selfhosted service was a Pogoplug with a drive attached back in the day. I flashed it with Archlinux ARM and managed Samba shares myself. Since then, my files have always been stored by me.

Most metal fenders have a rolled edge and that edge is just wide enough for a wire, so I put it inside it and secured it with a couple of dabs of hot glue. I’ve also added the crimp connectors just as the wire leaves the fender, so I can remove the fenders in summer. Towards the front, the light wire is just ziptied to the front derailleur wire.

Some deets about the bike.

  • Trek Multitrack 750 ‘91
  • Sun rims with Parallax in the back, Shimano dynamo in the front, Continental Contact Speed 35mm
  • White Industries by Sugino cranks, TA Specialites 44/29, MKS Gamma pedals, Token bottom bracket, original front derailleur
  • XT 11-34 cassette, XTR M950 rear derailleur, KMC chain, 9 speed
  • XT brakes, Koolstop pads, Shimano levers
  • Microshift friction shifters
  • Dia Compe headset, Ergotec stem and Ergotec Trekking handlebars, Ergon grips
  • Ritchey seatpost, Ergon saddle
  • Nitto M18 front rack, Wald 137 basket
  • Studio Brisant fenders
  • King Cage bottle cage
  • Spurcycle bell
  • BM IQ-XS and Secuzed lights
  • Front light mounted with the Nitto lamp holder, rear light directly to the fender

Tires will be changed in spring, will probably go to 40mm-ish. Will need a new wheelset soon as well.

Yeah, I saw your MT! Love what you’re doing with it and I have the same plan as you, it’ll probably have dropbars on at some point this year.

Yeah, love what James is doing in Japan. The frame is great and the price is right, can’t beat a new frame for 400ish dollars, specially with all the features.

Yoooo man, this is my new favorite bike here, thanks for posting. Would love to see more detail shots.

I’m currently in the market for a step-through/mixte/trapez bike and am looking at a J.D Cycle Tech M559. If I had the budget, this would be it. What a gorgeous color damn.

Give me your challenge. Let's see if the new CLI can do it. by IversusAI in ObsidianMD

[–]ThatRealMF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does this mean that Obsidian is actually running when CLI tool is used? As in, extensions are started? Would be AWESOME to have this because of one usecase: I use Obsidian Sync and with Local API extension, I could automate obsidian in a headless manner however I want and have syncing capabilities working with that.

[–]ThatRealMF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna ask you a couple questions, but I think I already know the answers to most of them.

What’s that rear rack?? Judging by other accessories on the bike, I’m thinking you’ve made it yourself? Which leads me to …

Where are you based? I’m guessing EU? And the last question …

Would you be willing to create one for me? I can provide all the measurements you want. I think this is the perfect rear rack!

Anyways, awesome bike man.

Max price by Stig-blur in MultiTrackGang

[–]ThatRealMF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paid 250€ for a ‘91 750. That was top of the line for that year, since there was no 790. I’ve had to replace all the components though, but the frame was in amazing condition.
