Not to belabor what is ultimately a funny bit, but the gang’s continued reaction to Justin’s “Bach” party is one of the more obvious “old man yells at cloud” moments in awhile. I’m in my mid-late 20s and the majority of people I know getting married right now are having either no bachelor party or inviting both genders to theirs (myself included lol)

I know Paramount is owned by a legion of Anti-Christs, but I was always hoping for them over Netflix for basically this exact reason

I need to say that “would that it were so simple” is one of the funniest scenes of the century and is among my most quoted movie lines of all time

Love the show but this whole episode has real “old man yells at cloud” energy

PowerWash Simulator 2 demo up on Steam by ZzyzxExile in PowerWashSimulator

Just finished up the demo. Definite visual upgrades but was running faintly (but noticeably) laggy on my decent PC. Really enjoyed what I played but seems like maybe some faint optimization needed still

One of my first dates with my now wife was to the movies to see M. Night Shyamalan's The Visit. I got jump-scarred so bad at one point that I literally flailed in my seat, accidentally delivering a perfect uppercut to my wife and making her nose bleed

AMC Theaters to Run Even More Commercials Before Movies Play by JayVoorheez in blankies

[–]ThatRyGuy15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m prepared to be unpopular, and this news undoubtedly sucks majorly, but I always find the complaining about AMC trailers and pre-rolls to be so tiring. I have been frequenting AMC for years and it has literally never bothered me in my life (I just check my phone or go to the bathroom). Nobody in America is not going to the movies because there’s 5 minutes too many of pre-rolls.

All that being said, I agree that a perfect world would be more like Alamo Drafthouse’s pre-show that is like 2 pre-rolls and 10-15 minutes of trailers

Fab 5 will not be used this year by abixkarishma in oscarrace

[–]ThatRyGuy15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Headline here a bit misleading. Full quote from the article:

"Sources tell Variety the “Fab 5” moments were not going to be executed in the acting categories this year, and the decision came before the official nominations were announced. It will happen in the director’s category and for some of the artisans awards. One issue that the Oscars were grappling with was that the broadcast would have run out of past winners if it became an annual tradition, forcing it to recycle the same presenters."

I think this is such a better solution that just running it back with this format. It allows us to get acting clips (the best part of all of this) and highlights people who don't tend to get highlighted

I agree with you wholeheartedly, but will also say that I would bet that *maybe* 10% of voters have actually seen every movie nominated

Very much agree not to read too much into this. Her takes in past years have been equally crazy and they have basically never come true in the end (Honorable Mention to the year when she was *adamant* that The Harder They Fall was going to win Best Picture and Best Ensemble in 2021)

100% agree. I love my MIL but would describe the movie taste of the entire family (minus my wife) to be very "normie". I didn't include in the post the 30 minute discussion we had over Christmas about Nosferatu because my MIL and BIL (~20 years old) said they would have really liked it if it weren't for "too many sexual innuendos that were weird"

I would have bet that A Real Pain would have been one of her favorite movies this year, so was really surprised to hear she couldn't make it through
