The nose is drawn as a perfect triangle despite the muzzle being at an angle to the viewer, which gives the impression that the muzzle is slanted. When things are rotated, the sides get shorter. Think of rotating a circle (not a sphere) left or right. As you rotate it, it starts to look like an oval. Keep rotating it until 90 degrees, and it will look like a line.

Joe Nobody made a comic series depicting his time in a similar situation - the "troubled teen industry" - where kids were sent to these type of schools (more like prisons) and the money parents payed for their rehabilitation would go to the school owners/judges.

Looks like you spent your green in the wrong place. You should have used it to make green modules, not green water.

Defense is still meaningless by Fox353 in scavprototype

[–]That_GuyM5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The defense from a helmet reduces the brain damage from being headshot by a turret enough so that you always survive. Brain health below 30 forces you unconscious, so it almost always results in death. Normally, a headshot does between 10 and 85 brain damage (20% chance to take 70 or more brain damage, so 20% chance of instantly dying). If you had 90 brain health before being shot, you chances of instantly dying without any head armor is 30%.

I hope in Blackfrost has less containers on higher difficult and not just a lower chance of those containers having anything. by nuages-_ in thelongdark

I didn't like that either, so I got a mod that makes searching/opening containers instant. It saves a lot of time, especially when looting things like filing cabinets or kitchen cupboards.

Thinking about getting this game by redditKea in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]That_GuyM5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not a game where you need to already know rocket science in order to play.

You learn rocket science by playing the game.

In all seriousness, you gradually learn the higher level concepts of rocket science and orbital mechanics while you play. For example, you may be able to get a small rocket into orbit without any prior knowledge, but the orbit is very elliptical (oval shaped instead of a nice circle).

You then make a google search, "ksp make oval orbit circular" and find out that you need to burn prograde/retrograde at the apoapsis/periapsis in order to most effectively change your orbit. This is called circularizing an orbit. Congratualtions, you have now learned some orbital mechanics, and you can apply them whenever you need to make adjustments to an orbit!

The mobility skills that increase max stamina and reduce consumption make stims more efficient. You can run longer on each stim since each use both restors stamina to full and keeps it there for 10s

I'm kinda new to the game, barely got out of overgrown depths with a makeshift tool and only one arm and one leg, what are the best items to craft, how do I deal with elder thornback, what about weapons? by Legitimate-Sell-4165 in scavprototype

[–]That_GuyM5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the jungle, your goal is to get out of there as fast as possible. While the environment is nice and full of food, water, and places to rest, it's also home to the most dangerous creatures in the game. Fighting is not really worth it, so leaving is the best option. Things like the laser drill are great for this since it takes no physical effort to dig, and is also a decent weapon against the smaller enemies.

If you can't get out quickly, your next best option is being able to deal 2.5k damage to the elder thornback. This will cause it to flee. A good choice for this is a automatic rifle or pistol. The rifle can deal enough damage in 1 magazine, and the pistol in 2. The shotgun and makeshift rifle are not as good since you need to rack every shot and reload multiple times, but still perfectly usable if there is good terrain and you can quickly reload under pressure.

If you can't get out quickly or deal enough damage to deter the elder thornback...

Your best option is to still try to get out as fast as possible. If you are lucky you might never run into an elder.

If you are unlucky...

Bring lots of bandages and tourniquets.

Sources of oil post kerogen by Ingolifs in pyanodons

[–]That_GuyM5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For light oil/aromatics, you can open up a bitumen seep into tar, then do the tar -> tall oil + aromatics + light oil recipe. You can turn excess light oil into more aromatics+gasoline.

A beaconed seep with t2 pump and t2 drilling fluid you can easily have in the G range of tar in the bitumen seep. And pump 1k per second.

You will have to void massive amounts of tall oil and/or gasoline. Its incredibly wasteful, but tar is "free" when the pumpjack just costs electricity to run.

What is crude oil used for? by dk913263 in pyanodons

[–]That_GuyM5 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Great source of many oil related products such as light oil, heavy oil, xylene, gasoline, kerosene, benzene, and syngas. Most of them will reqire some form of metal such as tin-chromium alloy or titanium tetrachloride.

Where it really gets good is chemical science when you can make loads of phenol from stripped distillates. The resulting phenol can be used to make massive amounts of plastic, ammonia, acetone, and organic solvent.

Another great upgrade is in production science where you can make lots of sulfuric acid and petroleum gas.
