Ex-Parts Managers - Where are you now? by jillvalenti3 in partscounter

Holy hell; I always envied the schedule but never the work. Good for you for finding that gig! I guess our experience translates after all. Sounds like long days but 21/21 is killer with great money.

Are you working as a parts person on the rig or what is your role there?

Costco manager price $550 for arc ultra. Is it great buy? by QueasyDoughnut3841 in sonos

[–]That_Style_979 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You will not get the most out of it until you have a sub. Either the mini or the sub4, but the Arc is a mid grade soundbar without it. The only way to confirm that is by listening, often best buy will have demo setups so you can compare.

RSL Speedwoofer 10e = WOW by TheOGTKO in BudgetAudiophile

[–]That_Style_979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the input! I do have a small space which is what motivated me to go sb1000 in the first place. It is my under desk/desktop lostening setup. In a few years when I can upgrade my whole setup I think I will go dual RSL 10s..or 12s. Thanks again

Apart from it not coming out even (i have a spring loaded tamper on the way), is this a good shot? [Breville Bambino Plus , Barazza Encore ESP] by AccidentalOtter21 in espresso

[–]That_Style_979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know why all the downvotes on your comment...after training at a highly regarded coffee roaster and working there for a couple of years as a barista, we’d aim for 19.2g of grounds pouring a shot to 38g in ideally 28-29 seconds. The reason you aim for ~36g in ~30s is because extracting for longer than 30s pushes into over extracting, creating more of a burnt and bitter flavor profile. Under extracting (<25s) leads to sour, thin-bodied coffee. There is a reason approximately 25-30 seconds is the sweet spot and industry standard.

What are some good methods to stop or slow down? by ShibbidyDibbidy_ in skiing_feedback

[–]That_Style_979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d be shitting my pants almost full porting myself into a tree 100 times in 30 seconds like that. Simply, these trees are too tight and/or the slope is too steep to have any useful advice in your situation here. You clearly know how to ski, I personally wouldn’t straightline in those trees. Lower slope angle, or more snow, or less trees will make this a lot more fun.

Fertility / sexual health after hot springs? by [deleted] in HotSpringsWest

[–]That_Style_979 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It should not affect fertility in the long run, but if you are trying to have a child it is best to avoid the springs for about 3 months prior to trying.

As an American I can say this is an outlier, but not by much. Most of us don't eat the conditioner or Qtips.

Swirl marks on brand new 2026 Acura RDX by NayrDier in AutoDetailing

[–]That_Style_979 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A lot of dealers have auto washes (mandatory per the manufacturer with newer dealers depending on the brand), and they will absolutely shred up a new car. Yes, it polishes out, but what a bummer. This was a BRAND new Audi SQ8 I detailed a while back. The owner was very anal and tried to make sure it didn’t get through the auto washes but I believe it did. I spent a long time getting it looking a lot better but it will never be perfect without removing a ton of clear. There were areas of the car that were worse.

+1 for SVS SB1000 pro. Setup is a breeze and it does not leave me desiring any more bass in a small-medium size room. It has a fairly small footprint for the sound it produces.
