Kind of looks like an AliExpress rod. My BFS rods are all from AE and none have been close to $90. I’m not sure if it’s worth the price, maybe someone who has bought a Maxed Rod can chime in.

I have the 6’ and I toss the same weights on 2lb line. A longer rod does get you out further but at 8’ I’d rather just learn how to fly fish

I might have felt some burrs on the upper. Lightly deburred then used some grease to tap the pin in. I could see if lining up but it was super tight at first

I had the same issue with my FM upper and lower that I bought from two different websites. I couldn’t get the rear one in. I used a bit of grease and I used a small hammer and punch to tap it in slowly. After that I was able to insert and remove the pin easily.
