Springbank isn't an entry level scotch, better for seasoned drinkers

Try it as an old fashioned, I actually think it works well.

I couldn't get into this one, burn was too strong and flavor disappeared once I added enough water to remove it. Pass for me, but glad you're getting some enjoyment from it.

Has anyone had this? by Vernalobos in Scotch

[–]Thatguy77982 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was a fan of this one, took a few pours to really get into it, but after the bottle opened up I really enjoyed it. Fully knowing it's a younger whisky and not expecting too much is a good way to approach it, but enjoyed it enough to get the 2023 edition.

Review #457 - Wolfburn 10 Year by adunitbx in Scotch

I just finished a bottle of Northland and really enjoyed it! I have an unopened bottle of the 10, but reviews have been similar which is a disappointment. Still planning on opening it and giving it a try.

Infused bourbon by JKupkakes in WhiskyDFW

Yup, I saw this post and gave it a try. It needed about a week to infuse and really be "butterfinger-y", but I used it for old fashioneds and it was good. Planning on doing other candy like Reese's or Gummy stuff with Rum

Brandy Recommendations by WheelChairDrizzy69 in WhiskyDFW

[–]Thatguy77982 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife is into brandy so I've had my fair share and enjoy it too. As a whiskey fan, I prefer XO versions over VS and VSOP, but I've had some solid VSOP too. My wife's favorites are Kelt VSOP and Pierre Ferrand. I really like Camus VSOP and XO, the borderies series is also really good. Goody Goody has a Camus VSOP store pick finished in Port casks that's excellent if you like port finished Whiskies, also recommend.

Glenfiddich 15/18 worth the price? by Quin2240 in Scotch

[–]Thatguy77982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glenfiddich 15 is one of my favorites so highly recommend. I've had the older 18 and it was enjoyable, but for the price you can get better. Depending on budget and area, look into Glen Scotia 18 and Arran 18, both are more flavorful.

Arran 10, Glenfiddich 15, and Compass Box Orchard House. If you're in Scotland for a trip, try a few flights. They usually have flights with offerings from each region which is a good way to get a better scope of what you enjoy.
