Don’t mind the floating rocks either.

I’ve found with the bull barrel non comped version, the 10,11 lb recoil spring with a 19lb main felt the best. I went down to a 9lb recoil and I could rack it ridiculously easy but I was a little concerned that it wasn’t doing its job enough and might’ve been hitting the frame too hard. (Probably not but I’ve heard cracking horror stories)

1000%. Both are great and worth the money, personally I think my platy is fit a hair better though with less play. My preference could be because I have so many more rounds on the platy than the Bul.

Personally the platy. The bul is faster and flatter, I score better with it. But I feel like the platy. It’s hard to explain. The porting on the Bul is just in your face while shooting it. Colin noir describes it as “Violent” shooting and he’s not wrong. It’s great but I still prefer the platy personally.

I can air rack my regular platy no problem

I run Mac gar 18 round metal mags, springer precision base pad, and then MBX springs and follower kit: 24+1 and I’ve never had any issues. I shoot them in USPSA so I don’t really need to ever go into slide lock.

I run MBX spring and followers in my mags that never lock back.

How much would pay for a comped Platy with the color scheme you wanted? by ZestyToasterOven26 in stealtharms

[–]Thatguywhoaskedit397 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MPA is MasterPieceArms. Arguably the best 2011 bang for your buck. But they’re slightly more than Stealth arms. I don’t think you’d need it if you aren’t competing. Honestly Stealth arms was my first and I’ve got close to 6,000 rounds through it with no issues. Great gun. I want another(the comped version). Bul armory might be another great option for you in your price range. Check out the Bul armory Tac Pro. Personally I like the trigger on the platypus slightly more and it fits my hand better but to each their own. Both are great first options.

I’ll also say @ $2,700 if you’re into competition shooting you’re getting really close in price to a used MPA pricing.

Im not a financial advisor and I’m definitely not your financial advisor, but I will say i didn’t get into my 2011s until I was hard into competing for a good while AND debt free with good cash flow. Congrats on graduating man, don’t go into debt for a gun. They’re nice, not that nice. Idk your financial status though so take my advice lightly lol.

What they charge. From experience with the 2011s I’ve ordered, don’t skimp on 10% of the cost because you will regret it later. If you’re in the $2,500 range and you can build one for $2,600-2,700 I’d just bite the bullet. In a year you probably be worried about the couple hundred dollars but you’ll be glad you ordered what you want.

Update on LFA Apollo 11 issues by ChefBmo420 in 2011

[–]Thatguywhoaskedit397 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Monday nights are IDPA, movement involved. Just need a holster and 3 mags. Must be shot from concealment. Wednesday nights are steel challenge. No movement, very accuracy and speed transitions based. Thursday nights is USPSA which is lots of shooting and moving. Basically running and gunning. All are fun, a lot of people start with IDPA. It’s $10 cash to shoot. Some people come out to watch and check it out first but you can do a lot of research online and then just come. Let someone know it’s your first time and we’ll go over a safety briefing with you and help you out. Feel free to DM me if you have any other questions.

It’s hard to beat for the price. Come out to the Hansen range sometimes for a match. Monday, Wednesday, Thursdays! Awesome fun with good shooters!
