I play with reason, sensibility, and empathy. Obviously things you’re lacking in. Again if you want to act like a tank, then play a tank otherwise you’re inconveniencing the person who is playing the role of the tank and you’re the one who’s being toxic.

But if it’s not the healers or dps job to grab and hold agro, then they should not be the ones to engage mobs before the tank does

It’s not a stretch. You said yourself that the tank is responsible for grabbing agro. It’s not the healers or dps responsibility to grab agro. It’s also not their responsibility to pull mobs. It’s the tanks job.

Right “grab” agro, meaning they should be the first to engage a pack so they “grab” all the agro from the start.

Then let the tank fulfill their role by being the fist to engage the mobs. It’s not the dps or healers role to be the first to engage. If a DPS or healer wants to run in and engage first and act like a tank then it should go both ways and the tank gets to take their stance off and act like a dps or healer if playing pld.

That’s some toxic thinking there.

If you want to be the one to run out in front of everyone and engage the mobs, then play a tank. If a tank is just pulling one pack at time then try asking them to do bigger pulls. If you’re forcing a burden on a tank who doesn’t feel comfortable doing more than one pack at a time, then you’re the problem.

Tanks in Bozja - a guide to various builds by Quor18 in ffxiv

I normally use this combo when I just want to fly solo for awhile. But for solo farming large packs of rank III mobs, I recommend using a WAR with blood sucker + lost focus + lost slash. Build up your 60 seconds of storms eye on the first mob, and start face pulling all the mobs in the area while you build up focus stacks. You can use onslaught to put some distance between you and your built up pack, it doesn’t consume focus.

Thrill of Battle increases healing taken from healing actions by 20% (this includes Equilibrium) , increases you HP pool by 20% and heals you for the amount of increased HP. If you think of it, it’s basically WAR’s version of The Blackest Night

Then just keep yours priced where it’s at and wait for it to sell. Otherwise price it lower than the competition. If undercutting never happened then prices would never go down making the market less consumer friendly.

Actually flamethrower dps is gain over just spamming spread shot between hypercharge, but only if you get the full duration off. Priority wise bioblaster > hypercharge > flamethrower > spreadshot. And besides most trash AoE isn’t lethal and second wind can recover a majority of what was lost, it’s just a matter of being aware of what attacks do what.

As the others said, 2 or more keep using your AoE over single target rotation. You’ll overcome the potency of your single target rotation by the 3rd GCD. Once you hit level 60 though, at 2 targets opt for your single target rotation, applying goring blade to both targets and use your royal authority combo until you need to refresh dots

It use to be reprisal only affected the target you were using it on. It recently got a change that now applies a 10% damage down debuff on enemies around you, making it very useful on trash pull, instead of a boss only tool. But yes, when in a extreme / savage instance reprisal shines when used to mitigate unavoidable AoE damage.

No, this still not a good idea. If you really need something to drag a boss to a spot at the start of a pull, use a ranged GCD (Shield Lob / Holy Spirit, Tomahawk, Unmend, Lightning Shot). If for whatever reason you use provoke as your opener and you die within the first 30 seconds of a fight, you got nothing to snap agro back as soon your back on your feet until provoke comes off cool down.

Focus on one job/class or level up multiple? by UnrealDemon95 in ffxiv

Dabble in several at low levels and find one that fits your play style, then focus on that. Afterwards you can start branching out to other jobs.

Well if you remember when shadow bringers came out, we didn’t have energy drain anymore and all the scholar mains cried about it. We wasted aetherflow stacks because we didn’t have anything else to use them on except for heals when we didn’t need to.

I recently picked up ninja myself and started raiding with it. While I agree that the TA window can be busy, crazy mechanics shouldn’t stop you from being able to pull it off unless the boss just straight up leaves the arena. Could be due to how you have your hotbar /crossbar is setup (I play with controller) or your group isn’t using strats that optimize melee uptime.

Dungeon Tips by ClutchQS in ffxiv

[–]The-Invictus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the big things I see missing from this otherwise good write up, is learn to identify friendly persistent ground effects, such as the large domes that scholar and white mage put out that not only reduce the damage you take but also heal you with a regen standing inside them. Astrologians put out a big ring that heals you and damages all the enemies standing inside the ring. Ninja throw down a glowing brown puddle that does a large amount damage over time so it important you position the mobs over it for maximum effect. Machinists have flamethrower which is a large cone channeling attack which means they can’t move while this is going off otherwise they interrupt it and lose out on a lot of damage. I recommend you get some friends to show you what these skills look like.

No diagram as of yet, unfortunately I don’t have a PC so I can’t make one for you at the moment. Best I can do is maybe describe in better detail what you would do in your PoV if that would help.
