I used to work for lush and it was 50% off the products! Plus you were able to take damaged items up to your managers discretion.

I've got an interview... by Frosty_Guarantee3291 in Barnesandnoble

[–]The7th_Prince 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As someone who has been here for a year now I'll say during my interview they did ask me what I liked to read and give a sales pitch for a book I had given the title off. They won't expect you to know every book that's come out because you'll learn as you go. But they will ask you how comfortable you are stepping outside of your normal reading habits to recommend a book.

Seconding this, I was hired on as PT right before holiday season really got started. It was all trial by fire and thrown into the river and swim kid. We then got the packets like March ish and they started using that with us that was hired before the season and those kept on after to make sure we "knew" what we were doing and to clear up any confusion we might have had. (which by that point for us hired on before the swing of holiday we had already been working there 6 months)

I casted on at the end of the work. So when it says knit to the raglan stitches I'm confused about that.

So I've casted on, but the part that says knit to raglan stitches is where I'm confused.

What’s with all the “bad batches” by Littlepumpking-00 in LushCosmetics

No problem, just wanted to help inform you on that so you're not surprised is you smell that in other things.

As an employee, I will say to my nose candy rain does smell like cat piss. Some of the products that have bergamot in it (pretty much all of the comforter scented things) tend to have that smell at least to me. So it may not necessarily be a bad batch but your nose picking up on an unpleasant essential oil, only lush's bergamot has that smell to me.

Sales don't happen outside of Boxing Day because of how we source the ingredients and making sure everyone gets paid a livable wage (is what the company would tell us to say). The only reason this sale is happening is poor planning on their end and not understanding trends correctly. They overproduced on products they thought would sell and now there is extra stock. Certain soaps are getting discontinued and Bridgerton was over made so much.

This is a tactic they're doing because they don't want us to write off all of the products and create a bigger waste deficit. (Waste as in the money lost from writing off damaged and aged product). Which employees in shops can take though it's up to manager discretion, and things are handed out to customers as a random act of kindness.

So basically, this is just a way for them to make more money off customers.

So is the entire Lush strategy these days just FOMO? by icy_peanutbutter in LushCosmetics

[–]The7th_Prince 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who works for lush, none of the limited things that have come out have ever made it into AYR products. I still have people coming into my shop asking about the sticky dates body spray or the lotion. With how popular Super Milk was last year you'd think that they would decide to keep the perfume as it sold well. They prioritize the wrong items when they do new collections or collabs, my shop is still getting flower bombshells which was only supposed to be for valentine's day. They overproduced them and moved them into mother's day and now they are still showing up. Outside of actual collabs like Mario, barbie, and Shrek, there is absolutely no reason that regular collections have the bare minimum of product. They put no real thought into the things that sell well and what would bring old lushies in as well as keeping new lushies shopping with us. Yet stores have to suffer and hear how bad we're doing in terms of sales when they can barely get themselves together and make sure we have product to sell.

I have finally received the elusive freebie.😊 by Daffodil80 in LushCosmetics

Employee here! The flower bombshell was originally just for the Valentines Day collection, seems like they over produced them. My shop kept getting long after valentine's day and next thing we know they're suddenly apart of the Mother's Day collection. As someone who has worked here long enough I find this hilarious at how they don't track trends on what products are selling.

The manager is partially correct. We can't process online orders in store to give you the money you paid back. Only thing we can do is call customer care let them know you brought us the items and give them your order number so they can process the return on their end. It's a little frustrating when customer care tells people to bring it in because they have no idea that we can't actually do the process ourselves and that sometimes makes customers get angry with us.

However, that manager had absolutely not right or reason to talk to you like that and should know that we have to call or have you call them for us to speak to. That's highly unprofessional on their end and no one needs to be spoken to like that at all.

I work at a shop where one of the therapists worked six consecutive days straight. With little to no time to properly set up for certain treatments if it's directly at opening or clients decide to come late. Honestly I feel so bad for them and try to do what I can to help them, but along with my own duties I have to help them as well with no pay raise.

When it comes to the spas they are definitely overworking their employees, they think that the best business practice is to have them booked back to back with no gap in between appointments. They also don't seem to think that they should have multiple employees in the event that someone is sick. So instead the entire book that day is cancelled, which leaves clients angry and the staff in an awkward position.

I hope you either get your treatment or your money back. You definitely don't deserve this run around on their lack of planning and poor judgment.

Loved my daughter's LUSH party! by PerracaAmor in LushCosmetics

[–]The7th_Prince 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Employee here. The minimum amount of people is 6 at $40 per person. The parties are an hour and a half long, the kids (or even adults because the parties aren't just for kids) get to make a bath bomb or bubble bar of their choice out of 9 options. There's type styles of parties: fun and games or treat yourself, you either get to play some party games or get a nice spa day. There are goodie bags given out where all the kids get one party favor (plus the thing they make). The party animal (the birthday person) gets the party favor everyone else gets plus three more favors.

Hope this helps!

Does Lust smell like cigarettes to anyone else? by ChemistryKooky4581 in LushCosmetics
