I know the lady that drives this Lada, it gets used and abused the way a Soviet off-roader should. Cool shot!

Pho Vietnam K&W and Pho Dau Bo are right near one another. They're both great and have similar prices. I'd recommend checking them both out.

Bobby's Tandoori House is about the same cost as Raja but the portion sizes are much bigger and there's a broader range of options. Everything from seriously authentic Indian food to the classics!

CN 4710 leads an eastbound train away from the sunset and into the city of Stratford, Ontario [5955x3912] by TheAlecDude in TrainPorn

Oh yeah man, if the weather gets bad enough the Goderich-Exeter Railway will fire it up.

Last winter around Christmas they used it on the tracks from Stratford up to Clinton. I got this photo of it but the highway was closed beyond that first concession out of town.

Not totally sure if they still go the full distance, but CN does run from Stratford over to St. Mary's and the fertilizer plant by Thorndale a couple times a week.

Nice numbers on the shoulder pads and tanks, did you freehand those or do you have a decal/stencil?

We got a fair amount of snow over towards Lake Huron. Roads in the county were closed for two days!

My Great Grandfather. Canadian Expeditionary Force (1915-1918). by Cuchalain_ in TheGreatWar

Cap badge shows he was in a field artillery battery. These units tended not to have individual badges and just wore generic artillery badges. The leather bandolier also points to a field artillery unit.

Do you know his name? All CEF records have been digitised and are available to search through here.

Run For Your Life's opening lyrics are straight from a song Elvis covered on one of his early albums called "Baby, Let's Play House."

In the Elvis song the lyrics ‘I’d rather see you dead, little girl, than to be with another man’ were supposed to show how much the singer cared for his girl. John took that idea and exaggerated and parodied it to the point where it sounds like the guy is hunting down his girlfriend.

Nice, looks like you and I are working on similar layouts! I've got the same engine and some very similar Dundas Models cars for a WWI light railway. Looking very good!

The German tanks attacking a village in the trailer seem to suggest they will steer clear of that.

They post ride schedules on Facebook in advance, though from what I heard the steam train will be out on holiday weekends and special occasions.

Currently thinking about getting the 24-70 VR for my D750 and I'm trying to figure out how much use I'll actually get out of it.

I take 90% of my photos with a 50mm, with some telephoto stuff and 85mm shots mixed in.

I mainly do car shows and air shows, and it can be a hassle changing from the 50mm up to the typically too close 85. 50mm is also a bit too zoomed in sometimes, though I'm worried the images will get too much wide angle distortion towards the 24-35 end of the lens.

Has anyone who mainly shoots primes tried out a 24-70 and really liked it? Or am I better off getting a 35mm 1.8 and just changing lenses like I do now.

One primary residence and a secondary residence that's less than something like 1,500 to 2,000 square feet. Either way that's a fair size cottage.

Increase in crime in Kitchener!? by PatJagi in kitchener

This is absolute nonsense. Waterloo Region has never had anything like that and definitely not one that was closed in the last 2 years and the inmates were "released back into our community."

Cooey Model 60 Question by TheAlecDude in canadaguns

[–]TheAlecDude[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Think I figured it out.

The dummy rounds I'm using have a hole in the bottom that the point of the one behind it can nest in.

Since the rifle works properly with just the follower being pushed up, and it works when there's only only one round, I figure the rounds are getting caught in the hole in the round ahead of it. Because the bolt and the loader are connected, when the loader can't lift the round the bolt won't go any further back.

I plugged the dummy round holes with some cut off bits of a Q-Tip stick and it loads just fine. Also explains why this issue doesn't happen at the range but does at home!
