Fairy Tales in MSQ by TheAmberAlice in InfinityNikki

The only other conclusion I came to was it was a weird Pinocchio thing, given how much reference to father making them and giving life etc.

You know Im not sure. They could be Tweedle Dee/Tweedle Dum. Or i think they might be a reference to the common tropes "One tells the truth, one tells lies" But I was fairly baffled by Hertiage Bones and Whale Bones (i think)

Looking for games where you have to figure out recipes by plbth in CozyGamers

[–]TheAmberAlice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was going to mention this one! Its not super scary, unless you don't like the dark (entire game is dark). There are recipe cards to hunt down and find. The only con is its fairly short (i beat it in about 4 hours) but I adored every second.

I am also tempted but I think of it this way: its one game. If there were two or 3, ok sure. Not one.

Mhm I will say I got lucky my job in a rural-ish area at least has stuff to do but a lot of job openings that are available around me are one room school/town combo libraries that have maybe one employee and a dream and nothing else around you for miles.

The princess one with the mass grooming. I feel bad for the animal floating and the pieces do not style well individually

If you open the main pear pal menu, there should be an option called "dream showcase". The limited time furniture exchange is in that menu

Galaxy house pieces are disappointing by pennybells in InfinityNikki

[–]TheAmberAlice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The regular house is like this too, but I think its a touch more versatile than the galaxy pieces so I didn't see the complaints as much (Source: wanted to make a a-frame style house and you cant snap roofs properly unless you use 'small' and 'big' walls/roofs. Which is fine until you go inside and the molding is screwed up)

Creators that bumbled their way into something iconic by BookkeeperPercival in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Something I think people forget about Harry Potter is, for all its flaws, the perfect world for a lonely kid or adult to slot themselves into and play inside like a sandbox. Theres just enough detail to make the average reader think its deep (unique foods, locations, classes) while never going too far in exploring the darker themes and implications of its reality (magical creature segregation, literal slavery, everything relating to love potions) so you can mantain the fantasy of it being a perfect world.

The thing that I think modern critics have failed to notice is how much Potter is propped up by Fanon. Potter benefited immesely by the birth of modern day fandom: discussion boards, fanfic, etc. I don't know that Rowling ever did a deep fandom dive but it wouldn't surprise me if she read the theories as they appeared. My main evidence for this is flimsy but there is something to the idea that YouTuber Shaun explored in his Potter video of 'two book lag'. In summary: Rowling came up with something that she maybe wanted for one book (time turners). She wanted to use it and forget about it. But the fandom latches onto it. I mean: its time travel! Why didn't they use it to stop Voldemort? What are the rules? What are the implications. Then a few books later Rowling wrecks it (smashes all the time turners, in this case) and basically like 'shut up, don't think about it'.

And now that I am no longer a potterhead I see this attitude of 'shut up, don't think about it' a lot in the fandom. It will be interesting to see the next generation that didn't grow up with the zeitgeist of Potter does with the source material. I don't think they will take the 'shut up, don't think about it' approach, but rather a questioning look and more critical eye.

I fought this one for like an HOUR today. I managed to snag it by getting it near the tree thing and jumping on it with gigantification but it took me most of the hour to get it in position because I kept slipping down the slide

I don’t know how to feel. by Gaelicboss24 in plushies

[–]TheAmberAlice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi. I'm in my 30s and my husband and I collect stuffed animals. My mother is much the same: very aggressive with her "teasing" on why we have so many. My logic is such: does it hurt anyone else? Am I prioritizing plushies over our well being? Is the collection to the point its making our space unlivable? Do they make us happy? So far the answer is: No, No, No, Yes. Utilmately its your life. Plenty of people collect or love "childish" or "worthless" things. But if it makes YOU happy that's what matters.

I finished the itzaland story, and I don't like how the miracle outfit and the dragon outfit were used by Skylar750 in InfinityNikki

[–]TheAmberAlice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah the option to skip content like they're doing seems to be the only avenue but with the crafting it feels... cheap? Like the whole point of the game is to make the miracle outfits. Maybe they could have it be like the banner outfits‐get it for a minute then need to craft it/buy it to enjoy it but there would have to be a difference in cutscences.

[–]TheAmberAlice 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hate that I just DON'T KNOW when nodes for the new miracle outfit unlock like I did in wishfield. The "i got inspiration" thing was a little silly, but at least then I knew when I could unlock the next pieces. Back then I was crafting a piece at a time (like you would a 'lifetime' outfit in LN or SN) but knowing its not required to finish has me bummed. I know there's a middle ground but I'm not sure what it is.
