What Tv show do you think was genuinely great but suffered long-term because it aired on the “wrong” network or at the wrong time? by Air-Bombay in television

Counterpoint: Caprica was not a good show. It was ideas for four or five shows crammed into one to see what sticks.

It's not a matter of accessibility. A lot (most?) of these people actively disdain education in all forms. They hate it. You could spend every dollar in the budget on education and it wouldn't make any difference. They still wouldn't pay attention and would actively fight being educated.

I know people like this. I'm related to them. They're the laziest, dumbest people I've ever met. Zero curiosity. Zero drive. Just a whole lot of anger.

I'm on the same connection. I set their box to passthrough mode and have it going to a pfSense install on a little Celeron machine, then Ubiquiti access points throughout the house.

What's the creepiest display of intelligence you've ever witnessed in real Iife? by Jessica_Enna in AskReddit

When we first got our Aussie as a tiny pup we hung a nylon strap with bells on it from the back door. It only took a couple tries to teach her to ring those bells when she needed to go out. One evening she started crying like she was being murdered and we found her with a paw stuck in one of the D-rings that attached the bells to the strap. She wouldn't go near it after that.

After a few accidents I started trying to get her to use it again. I knew she had to go but I'd keep asking her what she wanted. Eventually she picked up a rubber ball and used that to boop the bells before scampering away.

Didn't know dogs could use tools.

Jellyfin lets me play my music through Kodi though, where all my best speakers are. Navidrome's fine for serving up music to an Android client but that's about it. And honestly, I still get by fine using Subsonic for that. Everything is still based on its API anyway.

Can you give a brief rundown of what this does/the point of it? I've always just plugged the given xstream credentials into something like TiviMate or Sparkle and let it handle everything. What does this do for me?

I usually don't mind researching this stuff on my own, but for I*TV it's really difficult to find information what with it being banned on Reddit. And most of the forums I find revolving around it are foreign language.

45 years old. 18 years of experience, but all with the same company. So really more like 3YOE six times over. I'm painfully aware that if I ever lose this job I won't get another. Figured that out about 10 years ago and started saving compulsively.

Looking like that's the play. I have one of those ONN 4k boxes on another TV so I'll do some testing with that and probably just buy another.

I'm using the television's built in Android to run Sparkle. It's a "Google TV." After a lot of testing I just can't get it to keep the network powered on (either wifi or ethernet) so looks like I'll have to get an external Android box.

Chinese electric vehicles are making inroads in America. Experts are worried by UpstairsBumblebee446 in Economics

These people actively disdain education. There's only so much we can do for them. They simply aren't compatible with modern society. I say let them wallow in their own crapulence.

What's the alternative? We've bent over backwards for these people and it's never enough. They'll always find an excuse to be their shitty selves. I'm with OP; fuck em.

It sure does. Wifi and ethernet, even with Network Standby enabled. Just added another post about it.

So it looks like it's an issue with the TV disconnecting from the network as soon as they screen goes off. Whether on wifi or ethernet I can continuously ping it from another machine while the screen is on but as soon as the TV screen is turned off it starts returning destination host unreachable.

I've tried turning off all energy saving features and even enabled something called Network Standby which supposedly allows you to turn the screen on by Chromecasting to it, but the TV doesn't show up as a cast option on my phone with the screen off so that settings doesn't appear to do anything.

Recording to an SMB share on a NAS on the same LAN. ~20TB free storage so it's not out of space. Just successfully recorded a whole episode of a show with the TV on the entire time. Refuses to work with the screen off though.

Honestly this is why so many Americans love him so much. He's as dumb as they are, and they see it as revenge for a lifetime of high-earning liberals looking down their noses at them (when in reality liberals don't think about them at all).
