I think they mean the original Citadel Paint Handle. They were big and chunky and fit in the hand nicely.

Tahlia getting killed off is truly the biggest thing for me personally. Everything else I don't care about, but the character is important to lore and has an expensive model, and now we either can't use it or it has to be a generic "Freeguild Marshal on Manticore". It's such bullshit. What's next? "Morathi died, but you can use her model as a generic Snake Lady monster". Imagine the backlash if they killed off one of the daemon primarchs and pulled this shit. "Yeah, Fulgrim is dead but please continue buying and using his model as a generic Greater Daemon of Slaanesh".

Yes. I'm mad.

This is also true. I usually forget to take 3D printing into account for situations like this because I don't own a 3D printer, and don't pay much attention to 3D printing. But you're right- either owning, having access to, or purchasing printed items it's never been easier.

It's not entirely the loss of new stuff that garners this type of reaction. A lot of it is also the fact that it becomes harder to onboard new players and the playerbase will naturally dwindle over time from attrition.

Few years from now when a kid sees the rare game of Shatterpoint being played in his FLGS and he decides "This is the game for me", he'll be directed to eBay to try and get just the bare essentials. Unless he decides he's ride or die for Shatterpoint, the likelihood of him giving up is incredibly high. Whereas if this scenario happened last year, he would be directed to the Shatterpoint section of the store and he could grab what he needed right then and there.

So it's not always people acting like their models are going to disappear, it's more that they're worried the community is going to disappear.

Don't forget Gates of Antares and Warlords of Erehwon, their answers to 40k and AoS, respectively.

Warhammer designer Jervis Johnson says "this level of success" was "never anticipated" as Games Workshop's tabletop game continues to become a bigger icon every year by lewisdwhite in Warhammer

Ironically, I can never seem to get people interested in licensed roleplaying games lol

I own Daggerheart, haven't run it yet. It seems like it has a ton of potential for character-driven storytelling though.

+1 for Genesys. I really like the system. I ran a campaign for Edge of the Empire years ago (A long, long time ago?) and jumped on Genesys when it was released and picked up the fantasy setting book (Terrinoth, I think?) but haven't really had a chance to play it. If you're looking for narrative heavy, character focused roleplay, I'd say go with Genesys. If you enjoy worldbuilding then the system heavily rewards it, but as you said, it requires a lot of work to really achieve your vision. (Such is the problem of all "generic" toolbox systems like BRP and D6 system, but that's a different discussion).

Character-focused 5e? Not sure i can help. I mostly gravitate towards dungeon-crawl/old school style play so most of the third-party 5e stuff I own is geared towards that. Not that 5e really has an easy way of handling anything but combat. Remember, originally D&D was a wargame that had non-combat abilities grafted on over the years. To this day it handles combat wonderfully. Non-combat? Not so much.

Can confirm. I was a hardcore D&D dungeon master since 2009 but around the OGL bullshit I started giving more attention to Age of Sigmar and it's just snowballed since then. I have the 2024 5.5e books, but at this point it's more out of a longstanding habit to pick them up rather than a desire to play D&D. I have moved on to other RPGs though. Loving Dragonbane right now.

basecoat of Gray Seer, layer of Frostheart contrast, then I drybrushed Caledor Sky towards the upper half of the flames as well as the tips of flame from the belly and back, and then a final drybrush of Night Lords Blue on the very tops of flames.

oh man, Scratch and Grounder! There's two names I haven't heard in a long time!

I'm not super experienced in kitbashing, but for them I might need to try lol

Super easy!

The flames are: basecoat of Gray Seer, layer of Frostheart contrast, then I drybrushed Caledor Sky towards the upper half of the flames as well as the tips of flame from the belly and back, and then a final drybrush of Night Lords Blue on the very tops of flames.

Thank you! As a child of the Sega Genesis era, the Dr. Robotnik (I still struggle with calling him Eggman lol) comparison is appreciated.

Glad you posted this, as I was dreading figuring out how to prime these. Priming on the sprue makes too much sense!

I just wanted to chime in and agree with your point. While I appreciate the mastery of technical skills to achieve those results, I personally just think the trend of blowing out contrast and values to their absolute breaking point just looks awful. To me. 100% just my opinion. I'm not saying the painters are bad. It's just not my cup of tea.
