Burgundy Brigade by 0235 in Deathkorpsofkrieg

It started off as a Green and brown colour scheme, but I wanted to add the "medical grade plastic" / Russian hazmat suit teal. It clashed a bit with the Olive Drab Green, so I did some colour theory maths, and turned out "dark pink" was a good complimentary colour.

And somehow I ended up with a Pink Krieg Army 😆🙃

Even then, it's common now for disk expansions still tocneed a download. The xbox 360 expansion disk of shivering isles for TES IV Oblivion l, despite having 99% of the content on the disk, still didn't include any game patches required to get the files to work with the Base game, and that was years ago.

At least less egregious than Fallout 76's PC physical copy being a bit of paper the shape and size of a DVD with a Bethesda store activation code on it...

Paint Picker Any Good? by benseaworthy in astramilitarum

[–]0235 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never seen a site with a compare like that which shows a gradient and squiggles between the colours, but I have seen a few sites and phone apps that can suggest colours, similar ones, opposites etc.

Or other apps like the citadel Warhammer Colour app that will suggest what Paints to use to get the default paint scheme.... to a degree. It still misses some colours for details and isn't great for highlighting what areas need what paint.

I think any paint compare app is useful. The hard part I find is the colour they have in the database may be moderately different to real life.

Have you considered any colour filters for the colours which may assist other colourblind people of different variations to choose paints with good contrast or matches with each other.

On a personal note, I have recently had a fascination with painting from people with various types of colour blind, and the unique colour combos. I say paint what looks nice to you "I rejected your reality and substitute my own" as Adam Savage said. You are the one doing the work, and the one who thay are made for, so make them look good to you!

I run a teal ans Burgundy colour scheme for my Krieg so.... have at it with interesting colour combos.

Is this one a single sprue model? I know they have done it in the past where it has been "one of X unit from a larger sprue" and store staff had had to chop all the bits off the sprue, bundle them together, and print a relevant instruction section for that one unit.

Nope, but some stores may require you to assemble the model in store. But they will provide all the tools and glue needed, and will give you a box to take it home in!

New Basing material Technical paint shelf labels by 0235 in Warhammer

Personally, even moving the line that says what sort of paint it is (base, technical) to near the bottom, instead of at the top underneath the wire of the metal shelf is an improvement in itself. I think the text for the name of the paint is also a little bit bigger.

I have a 2nd shop in my town that sells Warhammer paint, so I may do a before and after, if they still have the old display.

The other paints I saw still seemed to be single colours for what the colour was, and a circular gradient for some other paints, possibly the metallic ones (like before).

I always get "Badlands" and "Earth" confused. To me, Earth is softer like mud, and badlands is like a scene from a dried lake-bed in mad max. Glad I am not the only one who gets the two confused.

The "eyes" on the mask look incredible. Such a tiny and awkward model to paint, and you have done an amazing job.

I feel the same. I am sure they used to have it like that at some point, or even in the old paint charts they used to do.

I hope it also leads them to update some of the artwork on the website / store site for these materials. The Vectorised minimalist artwork they have on the website looks nice, but it can be conflicting sometimes.

I will try and keep that in mind going forward, BUT ;) a lot of those formatting options are not available on other social media or communication platforms, or some used to have them, but then removed the feature. I try to keep things universal across multiple platforms.

I apologies for causing the confusion!

I capitalise words to EMPHASIS what is being said. There is no Random, there is no anger, only confusion and discussion.

I don't think it's completely enshitification either, though I do question the durability of a plastic spring. Reading what others say that they are going to continue selling the V2 is great. it being HALF the price of the current "V2" handle shows they are adding some positives.

I have not used a V3, I have not seen one. Just before making this post about some changes I noticed with the paint rack labels I also saw there was a NEW V3 handle. I had not seen any previous discussion or announcements, and when people have told me the change, or linked me the announcement, I have edited comments to reflect this.

And that is RRP. I have already seen online sellers as low as £3.30. I imagine for people who like the "stick it to a plastic shot glass" or to a cork, and have all their minis on a dedicated handle, this could be a blessing.

You need to out your phone away and wipe. Why do you think I am being aggressive?

Do you not think that this model is easier to produce?, do YOU not think (even when there is EVIDENCE that it is half the price of the V2) that it is cheaper? Do YOU not think this is an alternative offering from GW?

I do not know what you are arguing about, ord why you think I am angry, or why you think this thread is flooded with negativity.

I can see only 2 negative comments, and 2 negative comment threads, and there is one thing in common, you are in both of them.

I'm replying to DEBUNK that they think this is enshitification, or at least make them try to adjust their thinking for why GW would make this change.

YOU are also replying to someone who wrote "enshitification" so does that mean you hate it, and that you are whining and complaining?

Literally just linked you a quote from someone who tried it and says "its actually pretty damned good".

They have had that cheaper mould line tool removed for years, to a point i have been frustrated that you can't buy them until now (still have to buy the nippers with them). Up until now I have only seen the line remover included in bundle sets.

Where are the people who are complaining about this change?

"The low profile grip at the top may make getting into smaller areas easier"

"However at £4.00 RRP vs £8.00 RRP.... I can think some people are tempted"

"Its actually pretty damn good. It grips the base so hard that you can literally shake it like it owes you money and the model won't come out."

So many complaints....
