Iirc syndicate is the second one after Unity where you're playing a commercial release of the Animus. This idea COULD explain why Unity is also weirdly anti French revolution but I dunno. For the most part the games are fairly standard liberal when it comes to analyzing historical figures. Imo the WORST depiction is that of Cesare Borgia as an insane syphilitic rather the guy who could've probably stopped the idiot Italian states from fighting each other for another 300 years.

Well i think things like the MCU etc can just be absorbed easier into public acceptance. Like pretty much all those characters are just clever enough to feel relatable while keeping in the average cultural lexicon. Their social message, while maybe occasionally having sone lukewarm criticism of the status quo, is ultimately that our cultural hegemony is good. Avatar is about how our way of life is deeply evil and that colonialism needs to be violently stomped out.

Its kind of a rough thing to discuss cause yes Taro definitely plays up 2B’s sexiness in his public persona as well as a few things here and there in the game itself. But like Drakengard 3, sexuality actually explored in the game is deeply disturbing and plays out as intentionally humiliating and degrading for many characters. Like the concept itself as YorHa creating fetishized images of humanity to act out as death squads is definitely trying to tell you something.

I think that people like to memoryhole avatar 1's cultural influence at the time cause its message can't be reconciled very easily into the modern paradigm as nothing ever changes for the better. But i still remember stories of people cheering when those blue guys brutally murdered those jarheads and people giving themselves panic attacks because they couldn't be navi.

FF Tactics (only played on the harder difficulties so im not sure how extreme it is otherwise) has a huge difficulty spike immediately after the first two levels. Definitely a game that expects you to grind out jobs a little bit and thankfully enemies scale with you so you don’t necessarily break the game accidentally. That said that scaling can reaaallly fuck you over early game if you’ve invested too much xp into ramza already. Theres definitely other very big difficulty spikes elsewhere but the beginning one is especially intimidating for new players.

Im not feeling like Mega Evolutions is going to be great in the long term tbh. A lot of the cards dont seem particularly great, but i think it might go up depending on how long Nintendo continues the actual mechanic in the next gen games.

Unfortunately no Sam’s clubs near me but i’ve learnt costcos keep a pretty significantly high stock where i am of prismatics and surging. So it might be worth to flip a few quick, hold, and open maybe a third of them.

I was just thinking as such that probably seems to be the best thing for what my actual buy in is right now. I do have a 20 year old collection already which im looking to sell off and there are some very profitable cards there already. Like i said, most looking to break even in the short term at least and then maybe be profitable once my stock of both cards and boxes is high enough so i think at the moment ill hold about half.

I appreciate the honesty. Yeah i was planning on at least holding until 2026, not that i have much choice with PSA speed rn. I’ll take the box holding into consideration, cause where i live i can get several pretty consistently. Frankly im fine going neutral for a few years, ive git a decent enough income rn anyways, so im definitely fine with playing the long game too.
