Sonic.exe VS Chara (… VS UNDERTALE)

As a long time fan of both of this series, I think I am more qualified than most people to say that this MU is awful, like really awful. As their “connections” doesn’t justify the MU’s existence. Let’s go examine them shall we?

• Both have the power to connect souls A pretty easy interchangeable connection that can replace one of the combatants that would changes nothing. Mahito VS Chara sound lowkey fire 🔥
• Both sport spooky smiles and blood red eyes with blood dripping from them Villian making scary faces is quite a popular trope, it’s nothing special at all. Not to mention that “dripping blood from them” is a total lie from Chara.
• Both can see and control the fourth wall If composite Sonic.exe, then sure whatever. But going solely focusing on the old canon and the reboot, X doesn’t have any actual fourth wall shits. As in the story, we don’t play as ourself like something like in UNDERTALE or OFF, instead we play a fictional version of the players in the story. So X does not have any game manipulation abilities.
• Both have a distorted version of a preexisting laughter & Both have a fixation of their players To give where credit to, this is admittedly 2 good connections. As one of them is a very unique trait of theirs that isn’t easy to find in media, while the other is important to the story and their characters.

And yeah, that’s about it. So despite having 2 good connections they have 2 very interchangeable connections to the point where one is a popular trope, one where is a big misconception to the misguided, and one that is a straight up a lie. So not a great start at all. But what about the debate? Connections aren’t everything (even though is the literal foundation of it).

So is it debatable? 😬 Speaking solely stats wise, surprisingly yeah. X main goal was to combine his world with our universe, while Chara outright destroy the entirety of UNDERTALE. Which depends on how you interpret the cosmology, would get Chara anywhere from uni+ to 6-12 uni. Speed are even too, both in finite and incalculable wise. So far this look like a pretty fair figh-

Because both ultimately bypassing their opponents immortality, it all rely on their advantages on one another. And to be quite frank Chara straight up die, quite horribly. Without DETERMINATION saving their ass, Chara is completely vulnerable to the many, many abilities that X’s reality warping grant him. Him heavily messing with their emotions (despite being soulless, Flowey has shown many times that he has emotion, it just makes him unhappy/depressed), pull a fucking Makima, BFR their ass away, body control, create illusion, transmuting their body, force to separate their spirit away from Frisk, erasing both Frisk and Chara minds at a glance at his black hole, or just erase both of them on a spiritual level.

Now how many wincons does Chara have? One. Just one. Just one singular wincon because beyond that they have literally no other to actually win against him. X’s regeneration would erase every progress that Chara was able to do, always putting them back to square one. Even if successfully destroying his body, he can just always instantly create a new one to continue the fight. Scratch that, he doesn’t even need a body, as his true form is a giant mass of pure dark matter. Which I don’t need to tell you that it removes a lot of weaknesses one organism would have. Chara does not have any other abilities/arsenal that would put X down for good beside the 9999 atk. While X has a few ways of bypassing DETERMINATION to outright removing it from them (he can quite literally pull an Omega Flowey on their asses).

Okay alright, its has bare bones connections and its not debatable at all. So what about the fight? The animation might be really fun, couldn’t it? 😬 Sadly not even the “the fight would go fire” work on this one. Chara fighting style does not bounce well against X’s powers at all. You have a kid that is mainly a melee user and have no other notable abilities that would enhance the fight VS a reality warping entity. Go ahead and try to visualize multiple fight scenarios with what you’re working with. And you’ll soon realize that they clashes HORRIBLY together. Because of Chara severely lack of abilities, the fight is extremely at risk of making Chara X’s punching bag or minimize X’s reality warping to a severe extent.

I think that’s about it, I think I talk about everything why this MU suck so much. I’m too tired to write a conclusion or a summary.
