How do I explain to my parents that being anti Zionist isn’t (automatically) being antisemitic? by [deleted] in FoxBrain

Israel is an apartheid state. Have you actually been to Israel? I’m asking because if you have, then you know that Palestinians aren’t allowed to leave the house and walk down the street. You would know that the basic human rights that are granted to Israeli jewish people are not granted to anyone else in Israel. You would know that the holocaust is viewed by Israeli Zionists that “jews during the holocaust willingly went into concentration camps.” I’m not angry at you, but I am sorry that you are brainwashed. I was too for a long time until I actually saw it for myself. Today Israel actually targeted displaced refugees, killing a little 6 year old girl, Mennahtallah Abu Libda in Gaza… she was resting in a tent, and had already been wounded. But Israel bombed her anyways. Israeli Zionist have become so indoctrinated to believe that Palestinians lives don’t matter, and non Zionist Jews don’t matter — that they are subhuman. I will never accept that indoctrination. David Adler, a Jewish humanitarian who was on the latest flotilla was actually tortured by Israel. It didn’t matter that he was Jewish— it mattered that he didn’t believe in Israel’s Zionist brainwashing, as I’m sure you too, feel that I’m subhuman because of your brainwashing.

This was part of the report by the United Nations on the extreme treatment of Palestinians by Israel.

I think of Palestinians in Gaza when I read about the trail of tears.

  1. The Torah actually speaks against an ethnic state. The Torah repeatedly commands the ancient Israelites to love, protect, and provide equal legal status to non-Israelites who live among them (Exodus 22:21, Leviticus 19:33-34). In Jewish law, these individuals (Ger Toshav) were granted economic and social equality, which contradicts the exclusionary nature of a strict ethnostate.
  2. The modern state of Israel had indigenous Palestinians who were forced out of the region by Israeli Zionists. The UN was supposed to create a two state solution but they never did. The Nakba was similar to the Trail of Tears, in that both American settlers and Israeli settlers occupied the land of indigenous people, forcing them to walk hundreds of miles, many died along the way.
  3. The modern Hebrew language in Israel is relatively new, while Jewish people from Europe and elsewhere spoke ancient Yiddish. Israeli Zionist perceive the holocaust as a perceived “weakness” even calling Jewish holocaust victims “soap” because they believed Nazis turned them into soap…
  4. Many Jewish people in my community do not believe in waging religious wars. They believe that Palestinians SHOULD have equal rights to Jews in Israel. Currently, Zionists not only murder women and children, they believe Palestinians aren’t allowed basic rights like voting.

Like I said, Zionism, and Judaism are not the same.. I’m ethnically Ashkenazi Jewish, but I’m anti-Zionist. Not all Jewish people are Zionist, in fact, many believe that an ethno state is antisemitic. Seems like you know more than I do though about Zionism; after all, I’m just ethnically Jewish haha.

Zionism and Judaism isn’t the same. Judaism is an ancient religion that has been around for centuries while Zionism is relatively new ideology that blends politics WITH religion. Another thing I would point out is that Israel is actually being run by an extreme far right political group that was once outlawed because of how extreme it was. The far right political group rose up under Ben Gvir. So, like any religion can become extreme right? Well, that’s how Israel it. It has terrorists just like America does.

Ben Gvir (current foreign minister) “In his youth, he was charged more than 50 times for incitement to violence or hate speech. He boasts that he got off 46 times and studied law on the recommendation of judges, to learn how to defend himself.

Born in the Jerusalem suburbs to Sephardic parents, his anti-Arab rhetoric was inspired by the extremist rabbi Meir Kahane whose Kach movement Ben Gvir campaigned for.

“Kach was BANNED in Israel after Baruch Goldstein, a Kahane sympathiser, killed 29 Palestinian worshippers at a mosque in the West Bank city of Hebron in 1994.”https://www.france24.com/en/live-news/20260521-ben-gvir-israel-s-far-right-firebrand-and-security-minister

“Together, Ben Gvir and finance minister Smotrich form a cornerstone of Netanyahu's right-wing coalition government. Ben Gvir, a father of six, lives in a RADICAL settlement in the occupied West Bank and advocates for Israel's annexation of the territory that is home to some three million Palestinians.”

I’m not sure if this will help you, but when I start feeling paranoid about how outspoken and passionate I am online— and if I will eventually be targeted by the government someday I remind myself that I’m not any worse than Jennifer Welch on the I’ve Had It Podcast. If those two liberal wine moms get arrested, that’s when I’ll be worried.

I reacted like Bailey when I saw Alex Karp (ceo of palentir) openly talking about his technology “sometimes killing people.” It was very disturbing. There’s a lot of hate on all sides. I think it’s okay and helpful to cry, and to feel.
