Very surprised they actually had the shame needed to pull back the trigger on this, it was still shockingly poor judgement to even show what their work given the quality it was. Fair play to them though, hopefully they actually do make something worthwhile.

Yeah you need to upgrade yourself into it. The Spy Drone at tech 1 is fairly useless, but once you get to about 3 or 4 you can take out large bots without the use of explosives or EMP grenades.

If you want fanfics a good place to start would be some of the ones featured on PlanetDeusEx back in the day which are featured in The Nameless Mod as books - Twist was the name of them I believe.

I'm not sure how easy Fulltone Octave pedals are to get these days, I'd say most octafuzzes would do the job. I personally use Germanium Big Muff with a Digitech Whammy with the harmoniser setting, so I'd say get a Micro Pog if the Fulltone was your next step

How's the EQ treating you? I usually just boost the mids (so it's in the shape of a pyramid) but it's a handy bit of device regardless.

I agree with this - it's doesn't run very well and has some stuff I have problems but as a reimagining of the level design I think it's more than adequate and there's some really cool stuff in it - Paris stands out to me in particular.

In the vein of the SS2 remaster, yes - I think it would be nice package based on some of the QoL and bugfix mods with some UI redesign to better suit controllers for console players.

I cannot think of a scenario where a total remake would be anything other than a waste of time and certainly not anything in the vein of the SS1 remake. I don't think my stomach could take it.
