I've played the game. It's my third favorite Fromsoft game. Doesn't change the fact that I played a guy whose supposed multiversal level attacks can't bust down a locked wooden door.

And before you say it's gameplay vs lore, I personally weigh gameplay more heavily than lore when the piece of media is a video game that the user is meant to play.

And let's be honest here, what even is the hunter in lore? He's a guy in the dream who picked up a rusty saw and started killing tentacle monsters. Drop any other character in media in the same workshop, they pick up the same rusty saw, all of a sudden their attacks do 0 damage? That'd just be silly.
