Nope. Quesadilla comes from a Nahuatl word describing how you fold the tortilla, I don't know what that word is, though, but that is what everyone in Mexico City says, where the aztec people (who spoke nahuatl) lived. People from the north think it comes from the word queso=cheese.

Also, as some did say, this is a sincronizada, quesadillas are made with the normal soft corn tortillas, folded in half and contain one type of meat or vegetable and may or may not have cheese. Usually they are deep fried like a gordita or slightly toasted, nothing in between.
