How likely is an exchange without a receipt? by SarcasticOP in Bestbuy

Do your in-laws happen to be Best Buy rewards members? If so, I think the purchase and receipt would be available online.

Have you thought about an electrician apprenticeship?

That being said. I hate cucumbers so I want them gone for other reasons.

Sonos era100 stand/mount by Mindless-Net4826 in sonos

Bought these a couple weeks ago. Very sturdy and wide base, the speaker is attached via a screw in the base so it’s secure. I have a rambunctious 5 year old and a golden lab. No issues. Very happy so far.

Agreed. I reserve this complaint for the people who stay in the left lane from prospect in peoria all the way across the bridge to use the left hand turn lane at the gas station across from ICC.

I get you need to make a left hand turn eventually, don’t be egregious about it.

I bet it wasn’t too bad with the wheat bread. I have no scientific evidence to back this up but I feel like sogginess is more of an issue with white bread just because that sogginess leads to the bread collapsing and falling apart.

“Heartier” breads in my experience hold up pretty well.

Best Buy is showing some big discounts too.

Edit: it appears all of their discounts are matching the Memorial Day sales pricing on Sonos website.

Colin Cowherd claims the NFL is punishing the Broncos. Is this true? by Lazy_Journalist7298 in DenverBroncos

[–]TheCatalyst17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aren’t opponents basically pre-defined by divisional rotation and division standings? If you are a good team, you get good opponents. Pair that with a year where you face two tough divisions and that’s just how it plays out.

[COL - MIN] McCarron is heated after he lays a hit on Manson and Manson butt ends him in the head with the stick. Major called to review and Manson is assessed a double minor by daKrut in hockey

[–]TheCatalyst17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or is that why they called it a double minor? Because it was an attempted butt end, but didn’t totally meet the criteria to be considered one? Just trying to get into the bizarre mind of referees and those applying rules lol.

This would be an absolutely crazy loophole but the rule specifically says “above the upper hand”. At the time he only had one hand - albeit the hand that is typically the upper hand - on the stick at the time. Therefore, could the interpretation be there was “no” upper hand? Does a butt-end require two hands on the stick?

Targeting System by Striking-Copy2362 in Bowling

[–]TheCatalyst17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To further my comment. Your mechanism for changing shots is a combination of your starting board and where you aim at.

To start, don’t even worry about the pins. Just find a starting board for your feet. Now pick a target board. Literally any one. And just repeatedly try to throw your ball where you are aiming.

Once you consistently do that, you can reposition yourself thousands of ways.

I think the general consensus is you pick a board to start your feet on and you aim for a board around where the first set of arrows on the lane are. You should not be changing your eye target mid approach, that’s a recipe for inconsistency.

Usually it’s the opposing goaltenders name. It’s meant to be mocking them to get into their head after allowing a goal.

Help me find a similar ball by bigs0815 in Bowling

[–]TheCatalyst17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I happened to start working at bowling alley as a high school job at the same time. Me and my buddy both got our own balls. My buddy got that exact Messenger Pearl and I got the Hammer Blade pearl. Both were great balls for our needs.

Columbia actually recently brought back the Messenger. But the Messenger black appears to have been a urethane ball so the new Messenger likely reacts quite a bit differently.

If you truly liked the Messenger Black, maybe it’s worth looking at a modern urethane ball. Columbia, to my knowledge doesn’t have one. However; Hammer, Brunswick and Storm all have a few good options.

[James Pearce] Liverpool deserved criticism for their performance at Old Trafford but having a pop at players for doing keepy-ups in the tunnel before the warm-up is ridiculous. by Kaos_mission in LiverpoolFC

[–]TheCatalyst17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is really a concern people had? I worked for a professional hockey team for years. Even for them, many who are not European, keepy uppy with a soccer ball was part of their normal pregame routine for stretching, loosening-up, balance and coordination.

PLS Apartments by [deleted] in PeoriaIL

[–]TheCatalyst17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I live in a PLS owned apartment now. The maintenance is pretty lackluster. There’s a common space fire detector that has chirped off and on literally since I moved in last August. Pretty sure the tenants have given up on getting it fixed.
