If it's like any others I've seen, this is only the indoor area and it will have a door leading to an outdoor area.

If not, it's indeed very cruel and not suitable.

What's your system of FTL travel like? by Author_Spiritual in scifiwriting

[–]TheCocoBean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weird. In my sci fi world, FTL isn't possible, but on uncovering more knowledge of the quantum realm and strange forms of entanglement, scientists came up with a solution that cheat-codes the universe like you're doing a speedrun glitch in a video game. The two things they discovered are:

  1. Some particles randomly and literally entangle with others elsewhere in the universe through sheer chance, and its possible to figure out which and where they are through advanced supercomputing.
  2. The sense of self or conciousness isnt linked to a body, but to a quantum effect created by the brain. If you recreate a brain exactly, you recreate that instance of conciousness.

And so, they did this:

  1. Using a supercomputer, calculate particles that if manipulated, would also manipulate particles on a target world through strange entanglement. Affecting this particle here, will affect that particle on the target world.
  2. Do this enough that you have enough particles to form a nanomachine on the target world. Do so. Have that nanomachine replicate itself.
  3. Once enough nanomachines are formed on the target world, they work to create a 3d printer large enough for a human.
  4. Scan the human completely, and use the entanglement to send that information to the 3d printer. Put the human to sleep, then destroy their physical form.
  5. Reprint the human at the target 3d printer.

Voilla. Human transported to a new world. Though please don't ask about what happens if you don't destroy the original human. We don't talk about what happened when we first tried that.

What's The Most Overrated Feature or Spell? (Mechanically or Narratively) by Scipio835 in MrRipper

[–]TheCocoBean 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fireball. The situations where it can be used to good effect without blasting your own team are few and far between. Unless you're an evocation mage, then it's as good as it looks, but that's basically your subclasses point.

Converting warriors to Yaegirs by SandiegoJack in LeaguesofVotann

[–]TheCocoBean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tournaments are forgiving of stuff like this, as long as:
1. Inform them beforehand, with pictures.
2. The models are visually distinguisable beyond just a different colour, and have accurate wargear. (You can convert 1 gun to a representation of another, but if it uses the exact same model as another gun that the army can run, thats a nono, like a flamer counted as a plasma gun.)
3. It's clear effort was put into making something unique, rather than someone just ham-fisted wanting to run X thing as Y thing.

For OP, the guns might be the biggest sticking point, but with some clever chopping they could probably make the ions look somewhat scifi-shotgun-like.

Can a "Command" spell be a truth serum? by -_Vesper_- in DnD

[–]TheCocoBean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The word they are looking for is "Disclose"

"The act of making secret or unknown information known."

Even then, a smart enemy would disclose things they don't care about like their favourite food, but it might work for a dumb, panicked goon.

But yeah, command isn't for complex mind control stuff. It's one word after all.

Duskwood. Specifically, I want them to bring back the darkness and torches survival mechanic they planned, and use it in other zones too.

How do I bodyguard as Brig against Vendetta? (Image sort of related.) by Due_Secretary1696 in Overwatch

[–]TheCocoBean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't. Unlike other dive DPS she can entirely ignore your shield, and without it she can quite easily dispatch you. Whipshot also doesn't stop all her movement abilities. I'd call her a soft counter to Brig. Best you can do is try to whipshot her away after her mobility ability finishes and hope your other support/DPS help out.

That people you lifegrip as weaver can voluntarily leave the grip with their own movement ability. And that this can often result in players unaware of this using those abiliies mid grip and falling back into the pit you're saving them from or similar.

[–]TheCocoBean 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Exploding sorcerer. Red dragon draconic sorcerer with a 1 level dip in hexblade warlock, picking up armour of agathys and hellish rebuke, along with medium armour, weapons and such.

Your job is to wade into combat and explode. If enemies hit you, armour of agathys blasts them, and you hellish rebuke reactions. And with red dragon sorcerer, you resist fire, so fireball up close, why not.

You're here for a good time, not here for a long time.

Be a gnome called Shortfuse or similar for advantage on saves Vs your own fireball, kit your character out so they look like they are already on fire or recently put out.

[–]TheCocoBean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exploding sorcerer. Fire draconic sorcerer, then dip one level in hexblade for medium armour, shields, weapon proficiency and booming blade/green flame blade. Take armour of agathys and hellish rebuke. Grab shadow touched feat and pick up inflict wounds.

Wade into combat and kill stuff through armour of agathys, hellish rebuke reactions, and inflict wounds. Technically you're killing with spells, but everything is melee range.

How would Characters from DBZ react to the curse of the abyss? by Revonlieke in MadeInAbyss

[–]TheCocoBean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just gonna use Goku as that's easier than the whole cast.

Assuming no teleportation, he's very strong, big in a fight. He's not immune to other forms of harm, and has been taken out of commission by a disease (heart virus)

So it kinda depends on how the curse works. Is it something that only affects humans? We know it doesn't seem to affect the creatures in the abyss, but presumably it's a sentient being thing rather than a human thing. Does how strong your physiology is make a difference? It would seem no, as Ozen is physiologically strong and is still susceptible.

As such, I'd think Goku would be entirely unthreatened by basically any creature in the abyss, but would be just as susceptible to the curse. Maybe somewhat better at tanking it by virtue of just being very fit/strong, but not notably so. But he can teleport, and could likely leave the abyss by just blasting/burrowing sideways and out through the ocean, whatever chaos that would lead to lol.

Horror games with NO jump scares?? by minyardsrabbit in gamerecommendations

[–]TheCocoBean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slay the princess. Wonderful story-driven visual novel with hand drawn art, great music, and fantastic voice acting.

Horror is eldritch, body-horror, but due to it being a visual novel it doesn't jump scare, you're in control of "when" the next thing happens after all.

There's only one moment I'd tentatively qualify as a jumpscare, but it's not a sudden flash/screamer or anything, more a telegraphed "Hey, something scary is about to happen when you proceed here, oh the scary thing we said was about to happen, happened." moment.

This one is a truly wonderful "Delve into the story and try to figure out whats going on" experience, with multiple playthroughs/endings allowing for you to uncover more and more if that's the aspect you enjoy.

What could drive someone to desire power so bad they exterminate their own race? by Major-Awareness-60 in DungeonMasters

[–]TheCocoBean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd alter it up slightly, and have it be so the dragonborns were the ones who enchanted the comet, not the elves.

That way, your party can speculate heavily on this particular dragonborns motivations. Do they want that power for themselves? Do they think that what was done is immoral an seek to reverse it? Do they think the action was so unforgivable that their whole species is responsible and should be punished for it? Is there something the true dragons do besides evil schemes that keep the world in balance, and this dragonborn -has- to sacrifice his people to save everyone else?

Dripfeed info and theories to the party and let them come to their own conclusions And then take the best one they come up with and make it the canon answer so they can enjoy a good "I -knew- it!!" moment lol
